In context, Al was looking out for Al when he cooked up his "so called" better path for Wilder. The path was to fight Breazeale for 20 million, then Ortiz II before beating the former lineal champ. It was sold as the perfect end-around Joshua while making just as much fighting easy BUT more importantly Haymon thought he could keep the fights in house.
In the real world, Wilder got paid for Breazeale but made peanuts for Ortiz and Fury who turned out to be better than expected. Before the rematch Fury signs with Arum, Wilder gets knocked out and the promise of big money is dead. Wilder gets to watch Ruiz capture the belts and Haymon keeps his relationship with Espinosa.
Everyone wins BUT Wilder.
As I've said many times, a little honest context often tells a different story.
When Hearns & AJ broached about the idea the idea that Wilder making that much an fighting AJ twice, both of them had no idea about it especially Joshua!
They asked for the numbers specifically because they weren’t approached about it which is why DAZN CEO John Skipper had to come out an apologize to Wilder!
Wilder would’ve been in the mud like Canelo an others are if he’d took that deal so like you said, “context”!
Yes I do however agree that Haymon was looking out for himself cuz Wilder was looking to leave to DAZN once he saw how much they were willing to pay but once Al broke down how AJ’s name wasn’t even signed onto fight Wilder after Ruiz(AJ’s loss to Ruiz would’ve made it a mess cuz the deal was after Breazele then supposedly Joshua & Wilder fights next) it would’ve had Wilder still on ice waiting for AJ like he already was when they initially negotiated with Hearns throwing out flat fees, pushing on mandatories on AJ and then one way rematch clauses for undisputed heavyweight fight who everyone wanted!
Nice try on the revisionist history but your not talking to the average casual buddy!

No doubt Fury out boxes any boxer but he was hitting Wilder with his feather fists and wilder was hitting the floor with jabs to the body. Fury has never stopped a prolific fighter he is just not blessed with power.
Either Hearns DAZN bot or AJ’s gym bag carrier!
Fury is levels up AJ, Joshua has no advantages going into that fight with Fury except power and that won’t change the fight if AJ can’t tag Fury or even bother him when the hardest puncher in the division couldn’t keep Fury down an out!
When you tell your misses that you bet your entire life savings on AJ an lost everything just be man enough to admit she needs to control the entire shillings!
As for AJ/Wilder, we’ve been through this already!
In the history of negotiations in boxing, Team AJ will forever be an anomaly due to the documented fact that they kept moving the goalposts numerous times to get the fight done an kept making excuses!
You have both of the Hearns shamelessly coming out an saying Wilder is too dangerous an too risky to take the fight for AJ an they rather fight safer fights an then AJ did an interview on IFL with Johnny Nelson admitting his coach Rob McCracken said he’s not ready for Wilder and that he won’t be rushed to fight him!
Real boxing fans know Joshua wanted no parts of Wilder, he wouldn’t be able to stay away from the big right hand for long!
He doesn’t have the ring IQ, size, reach, speed, defense, head movement or chin of Tyson Fury!
Wilder flat lines AJ within 5 rounds especially if Wilder hasn’t lost a lot from the Fury loss!
Fury makes it worse on AJ as it would be a sustained brutal beating an likely make him quit like Ruiz did!

Joshua knows his limitations, so does Hearn.
He goes full Frank Bruno / Rabbit in headlights when he gets lit up.
Terrible recovery and stamina when he can't set the pace in a fight.

Still interested in seeing how AJ will react when someone puts it on him
The very few times Ruiz got close in the rematch, AJ looked really flustered and panicked. Other opponents won’t be 300lbs and unable to move, so AJ won’t just be able to run around the ring again.
There’s still questions to be answered. Someone will take him out again anyway, which will be Fury if they fight soon.

Joshua has power, but not that kind of power.

Joshua has decent power but a lot of his stoppages are the ref jumping in. You never see him put guys out like Wilder.
And really I don’t think “punchers chance” exists at that level, unless you are truly a freak like Wilder, and even that wasn’t good enough against Fury.
Guys with the IQ of Fury don’t lose to guys with a punchers chance. And considering he does almost everything better than AJ, it’s hard to even say AJ has a punchers chance, especially when he hasn’t got lights out power.
AJ is a good finisher. He just isn’t good enough to do get to that point v Fury.,

AJs stoppage of Povetkin is far more impressive in itself then any Wilder win .
The fights you are referring to are ones where the guys he’s landing on are on there way out ,.
Takam for example has blood in both eyes and his legs were going ,any rational person can see why the fight was stopped .
AJ has far more abilities to actually hurt you faster then Wilder can he just doesn’t swing for the fences it’s a reason Fury is going to be in major trouble here ,AJ is going to work behind an actual jab and amount an offense Fury won’t handle .
