Exactly right. Ugas isn't a big draw at the moment (although Jeff Horn wasn't either but that's a story for another day) so I understand Pac not fighting him. But Ugas has skills that true boxing fans can appreciate. He's definitely not boring though.

    • Thurman should call out and try to fight Ugas instead of demanding fights from the top guys like he still has a title.

      • Blatantly biased commentary

How blatantly biased was the Fox team of Kenny, Lewis and Goosen who sang the praises of Ugas before, during and after the fight. Granted, Ramos did not do enough to win the fight and Lou Moret's score of 117-111 in favor of Ramos was baffling. But Ramos was competitive throughout, giving almost as good as he was receiving. His jab was consistent and he landed the harder power shots, two of which wobbled Ugas. Yet the Fox team rarely gave Ramos credit and acted like he wasn't even there.

        • This is a case where the commentators, the managers, the network, everyone needs to corner the judge and demand that he explains his score! And from there, proceed to collectively file a complaint and demand an investigation! Lennox Lewis and Joe Goosen need to exercise their position in the boxing world and not accept this injustice.

          • Ugas vs Crawford is a far better matchup then Kell Brook. Crawford could probably get his money too...but let me get this straight. Manny Pacquiao is WBA champion (i guess super champ) Jamal James is the interim and now Ugas is the regular champ?? God they need to revamp this sport. Since James is interim cant he fight the mando?

            • They need to do a complete revamp of the judges get these older guys out of there and restructure from there preferably former fighters and include a clause in their contracts that enables automatic termination if they misjudge an obvious fight or a strike system that will have them think twice.

It's corruption at the end of the day and it's probably never going to change too much money involved and mostly by higher powers it's the same in all sports bad refs in team sports just for example. It's honestly the same in everything all politics just sucks for some fighters that perform a perfect fight only to lose because of bad judges and then they fade away and never get that momentum boost that the belt would've brought.

              • The way andre ward was seeing the Jose Ramirez was surprising.
I think the scoring will always reflect a difference in opinions.
I find the way Harold Lederman defines effective aggression sometimes, to be completely off

There is a lot more to boxing than just FANBASE!!!

                  • Ugas won this fight easily. Got stunned twice but this is boxing, we tend to forget Ugas is no spring chicken. Hopefully he gets a big $$$ fight because he’s starting to decline a bit.

Judges scorecards were terrible. Ugas out landed Ramos by a 100 more and got a split decision. Boxing judging is trash

                    • Shhh don’t tell PBC this, they’re still selling this as “world welterweight championship” winner.
