Mate of mine is the same. It's the name Tyson and like you say the aura it created that's aged a lot better than the man so called it.

54 is no age to be taking shots to the head, especially when shot resistance leaves you first and power last. He'd be walking through treacle if he ever made it into the 2nd round.

I said this the other day. Theres cardio, then there's boxing cardio, then there's boxing cardio at age 54 after 20 years of abuse and as a heavyweight with asthma. But half these guys think it's the same as hitting a bag.

Mike you’ve been around boxing long enough to know it’s big boys stuff and there are no short cuffs when you get to a certain level...if your reasonably fit and in shape a 30 sec training clip should not put you in bed for a week.
That don’t make sense to me.
But he’s 54 and his fitness left him a long time ago I suppose

Fortunately it looks like Mike has people around him that care these days. Do not let him get in the ring again throwing serious punches. Even in an exhibition. Professional wrestling aka pantomime is fine. Otherwise stay at home

Damn straight being in shape in and being in condition are twp different things. Strength and conditioning training for a fight hurts so much you wonder...

It's a good kind of pain though.

Tyson knows better, of course he would know this as a former pro athlete, being in shape and being conditioned to fight are not the same thing. That said, all he needs is time and dedication, and I still look forward to the fight.:

True indeed...There aren't many fighters around whom I can still get hyped for at 54...but I know Mike will bring his best, and do his best.

Why don’t posters read articles on here ? The article is about how he decided to go for a real fight not how out of shape he was months ago doing 15 minutes of cardio then hours at a time . Only on this forum can most take away from Tyson when he’s explaining the importance of training to be a certain level to get into the ring .

Well at least you were getting a glimpse of the real Tyson then.

Slow down Mike you are not a young athlete anymore. Gratefully, you didn't pull a muscle playing to the cameras like that
