Can someone explain? The size difference between him and Hearns was ridiculous. That small of a guy boxing at middle weight was brave but dangerous
How on earth did Duran go from lightweight to middle weight? (Even super middleweight

His poor dietary habits. Legend has it that he would balloon up to as high as 200 lbs or more between fights. -

Are these rhetorical questions? How did toothpick Hearns go to Cruiser or how did Vinny Paz weigh higher in his post career than Duran?
Paz and Duran bulked up to stay at higher weights the old school way. Baldomir would walk around the same weight as Duran at Super Middleweight but chose to fight at 147-154Comment

A penchant for fast food. Apparently he liked his food fried until everything be the same uniform shade of golden brown, and he didn’t want you to pat it down because the grease would be helping it slide down his hatch more easily, he once said that ‘drive thrus on the other side of the road be teasing me’ a religious man with a diet being the one true sinComment

Speaking of fried food and fat... how did Toney go from Middleweight to Heavyweight... more rhetorical questionsA penchant for fast food. Science can probably answer that. And He was relatively short for MW, but as far as size goes, it's if you can make the weight you're good. There's no height restrictions for weight classes.
Dwight Muhammad Qawi at 5'5" and look how high he fought. Didn't he fight at LHW, CW and as high HW?
Mike Tyson was a relatively short HW at 5'10".
Also, how old was Duran when he debuted in pro boxing, 16?
Personally, from 16 to 30 years old, I grew 30lbs, and I did not get fat or anything like that. I was an average looking 16 year old, skinny/lean. Now with 30lbs added at 31, I am still lean.
Also, looking at his body, he wasn't necessarily shredded or anything like that. So it looked like he trained more on boxing skills rather than going down in weight and draining himself to get an advantage. I think, at 160-168, he was probably fighting at the average walk around weight for people at 5'7". Yes height to weight ratio charts will say that 5'7" 170lbs is overweight but we all know that's exaggeration. Someone can be 5'7" 170lbs and look fit and muscular, not fat.
Just my two cents.Comment

cmon man. It’s not rocket science. you can look at physiques from a ton of fighters gaining weight as they move up and acclimate. You think Bellew had the same physique at LHW to HW gaining 40lbs?Comment
