He wants the public's respect. No point in even going on about it bc boxing fans are fickle as hell. If a guy is not a well-known he's automatically considered a bum. People knock his resume, but if you look at most of the guys he's fought, they were either highly-rated or undefeated. May not be the guys we wanted to see him face, but most of those guys were solid fighters that he made look ordinary. Like him or not, he is clearly a P4P stalwart that is gonna take much more than just a good fighter to defeat him. Hopefully somehow he gets some marquee matchups soon. He's already gonna be 33.

The critics will give you credit when you fight a 147 titleholder.

Pricing self out = ducking, according to quite a few on here.
I would not say ducking but if you sit at home instead of fight you make $0. He has already lost out on 2 paydays this year and he plans on holding out on more simply because he thinks he deserves more? All over the country people were being laid off or taking pay-cuts. Why cant he along with other athletes do the same?

As much as I would love to see Crawford vs. one of the PBC welterweights (Spence, Pacquiao, Porter, Thurman, Garcia, Ugas is my personal order of preference but any of them would be good), I think Crawford's next big fight will be the Jose Ramirez vs. Josh Taylor winner.

I would love to be wrong and the Ramirez-Taylor winner would be good, however that's what I see happening in the next year.

The critics will mos def give you your credit for your '35 and '40 campaigns. But as of right now, they wont for your '47 campaign.

IMHO not only critics but everyone will give him his credit when he fights the best fighters out there. I've always said that Bud is a terrific talent but his resume just doesn't help him at all.

Horn is on the verge or retiring right now, Khan was damaged goods, Kavalusks I don't even know if he is still boxing, Benavidez Jr hasn't done anything, Indongo hasn't done anythng.

Best Crawford wins were an undefeated Gamboa and undefeated Postol, don't get me wrong those were very good wins but are they HoF wins??? Sorry but to me no, Bud has to fight the PBC guys to prove he is really the best.

Retire NOW BUD, and get your credit NOW! Then come out of retirement a few months later like Manny Pacquiao.

                      It's about that time

To be the best you have to beat the best WW's out there. It's not by saying you are the best.
