Does Whyte deserve the immediate rematch against Povetkin?

On one end Whyte def earned a shot at the title by beating Chisora2x Parker, Brown and Rivas but got pushed back so much it kinda makes sense.

On the other Povetkin came back and ko’ed him fair square and earned his spot.

Is it fair to give Whyte the second chance or unfair to Povetkin. He is getting to old and this really might be his last chance recapturing a world tittle your thoughts?

yes, i mean he was winning before the KO and even dropped him twice in the round before, everything look like povetkin was gonna get KO'd.

No one forced Povetkin to agree to a rematch clause ,no,one forced Whyte to give a shot at a mandatory spot . Fair wouldn’t have anything to do with anything . If a fighter didn’t want to give a rematch in a win he wouldn’t have signed the contract .

Doesn't matter, it was in the contract.

Does Wilder deserve a third fight with Fury, only winning 2 out of 19 rounds? NO, but he got it.

Always good to have a rematch clause, if you can get it.

It’s in the contract. Deserves got nothing to do with it.

As irrelevant as whether Deontay deserves one. It's in the contract.

If there wasn't a rematch clause then there wouldn't have been a first fight.

So, yeah, he deserves the rematch.

Exactly, Povetkin’s manager even said they wanted the rematch clause. At the end of the day, Povetkin is coming to the end of his career and it’s another fight for good money.

I think he does, regardless of the contract.

Well he has a rematch clause, so from that alone he does deserve one. Secondly the fact that he took on someone on that level when he could have fought a Gerald washington, Arreola sort of level, he does deserve a rematch even if he doesn't have a clause. Most boxers DO not take a risk like that. Fury fought Otto and Tom before taking on Wilder, Wilder fought Ortiz and Breazeale before taking on Fury, Ruiz is fighting Arreola... ALL those opponents are not and were never on the same level as Povetkin.
