I believe Floyd signed to fight Pac two times. The first time Pac declined. ‘09? ‘10?

There's a valid argument Floyd didn't want smoke with Tony.

Pac refused to take the test to beat the best though. He knew the beating that awaited him.

No there really isn't. There are valid business reasons that a lot of people choose to ignore because it sounds better to say Mayweather was scared of Margarito.

The reason Mayweather opted for the buyout rather than waiting for the May 6 result was because the contract had a limited window for the buyout, one that expired before the De La Hoya fight. However, Arum said he would have extended the window if Mayweather had asked. What Arum wouldn't do, he said, was raise the guarantees for other fights outlined in the contract.

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

"That's not in the cards," Arum said. "He wants $20 million for the De La Hoya fight? It's not there. Sometimes, my man, you gotta know when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em. We'll talk about things down the road."

That's why Floyd fought Manny. Floyd knew it would be an EASY fight for him and it was. Floyd barely put in any effort and EASILY beat your hero.

Floyd thought he'd have a better chance with a more worn pac. A Pac with 70 fights under belt.
                So Floyd marinated it

floyd didnt avoid anyone.....once he left he couldnt make a fight with TR fighter because bob wouldnt let his guys near floyd....ever notice how once cotto left TR he and floyd were able to make a fight easily?

floyd left TR in the midst of negotiating a fight with margarito...arum admitted this and ill show you the link if you want further proof...its all there in a dan rafael article...its just that ive posted it like 1000x in the same type of threads....bob admitted that floyd agreed to fight margs but floyd wanted future guarantees against hatton and cotto for 10 mil each...bob would only do 7 each....bob also admitted that floyd asked for an oscar fight in which bob declined and said "i cant..ill lose money"

thats when floyd bought himself out..initially bob was ok with it...bob thought floyd was still going to use TR to promote his fights the same way that he ended up using golden boy...once he went with golden boy bob lost it and started talking nasty about floyd and trying to tell everyone that he ducked margarito...and those that wanted to believe it bought it...but bob forgot how nice initially he was talking about floyd and that he said that floyd "agreed to fight margarito"....

                  fugg it..ill post it

Floyd Mayweather Jr. rejected promoter Bob Arum's $8 million offer to fight welterweight titlist Antonio Margarito, and he instead exercised a provision in his contract to buy Arum out.

try reading the article and not the headline....bob said floyd agreed to fight margarito provided the 10 mil guarantees were met for cotto and hatton fights later......so bob lost out on floyd and all the money that came with floyd over a paltry 6 million dollars

dont you think thats gotta sting ole bob a little? bob wasnt going to let floyd hang an L on his latest pet/protege until they were ready to cash manny out...which is why the fight easily got made after jmm knocked pac out and the luster faded off of pac a little...till then bob wasnt going to let the guy that walked from his company, to become the biggest star in boxing, put an L on his latest "project"....

theres no real valid argument with any substance...tony got undressed by an old ass shane mosley.....heck cotto was beating him with ease its just that cotto wasnt bright enough(others claim too prideful) to clinch when he should have...or at least a little....cotto was beating him easily and if he fought smarter he could have done the same the last 6.......i know others will claim margarito was damaged or whatever....but u saw what cotto was able to do in a rematch when fighting smarter....he would have finished the first fight like that if he fought like that....

margs is nothing more than a chin and stamina...he doesnt have any real skills....a guy like floyd would have picked apart and embarrassed tony.......its obvious...but you guys go on perpetuating that myth...you have for years and arent likely to stop...

Thurman, hopkins, garcia, whyte abd others are all in agreement that floyd only fight opponents under his watch/terms and even the hardcore fans could not deny this.
