I wouldn't be totally shocked if Santa Cruz just outworked him. I think Davis's punching power may be a bit overrated as Gamboa's chin and balance have been proven to be a bit suspect. Pedraza is fighting 2 weights above now, probably drained when Davis stopped him. These are the only worthwhile names on Davis's resume.
I only recall seeing Santa Cruz buzzed against Frampton or Mares but don't remember him ever going down from a punch or even being badly hurt. I think it may go the distance. If 38 year old Gamboa can make it to the 12th with an achilles injury or whatever it was, I don't see why Santa Cruz couldn't do the same.

gamboa wasn't worthwhile at all and gamboa was also fighting to survive so you cant really compare that to a guy who is trying to win. unfortunately santa cruz was chosen because: he has a mexican fanbase, is tiny and unproven above 126, and has a good style for davis since davis isnt a good boxer as shown against fonseca, he needs someone to be in front of him to get off those trex punches.
I got Leo by decision. Tank is going to get out worked looking for that one shot all night. His fat ass will gas and cruise to a decision lost. Hopefully the judges don't fill in their scorecards before the fight.
