It's not about how much you can lift or how much bigger you are...lol. It's the delivery of the punch and how it is thrown. Your power of your punch comes from your back and delivery of the legs. Wilder knocks people out at 209 lbs. Ever see wilders back even though he has noodle legs? It's the delivery of the punch like the delivery of throwing a baseball. You don't knock people out with your biceps or triceps... So lift all the weights you want... Fury doesn't knock people out at 270 and AJ doesn't knock people out at 260 and all muscle.

Would you rather crash your car into a motorbike or a truck? Size does matter.
Once you get to a decent level it doesn't really matter who Wilder fights. He either knocks them out or gets outboxed because that's all he's got.
AJ v Fury is far more interesting. Two boxers and two big men.

Fury is highly creative and can adapt on the fly. By contrast, it appears that AJ's frontal cortex was removed with a dull ice cream scoop leaving him unimaginative and stiff. I have no doubt that mid-fight Fury could point to AJ's shoes, and AJ would look down to see if his laces were untied all the while Fury is loading up on another punch.

Fury going the full number of rounds with Pianeta (who?) and Wallin (who?) must really make Joshua fear for his life.

Joshua fights top-10 fighters every fight. Fury manages 1 in 4 and a half years.... Go figure.
50/50 fight

But in that kind of fight I can see Fury stopping Joshua. Fury can fight front foot or back foot.

AJ fought Ruiz at distance on his toes and still cut him in the first round. With Fury struggling with that cut against Wallin, who knows what might happen.
I think AJ has a fair chance for a variety of reasons, among them:
- Joshua has often been better against tall HWs than shorter ones.
- Fury's defensive rep is largely built on the Wlad fight, when Wlad for some reason couldn't or wouldn't let his hands fly. I don't see Joshua having that problem. Far less adept boxers such as Wilder and Wallin have laid serious glove on Fury and there is no reason to think AJ will struggle to hit him.
- AJ was clearly rattled by what happened in the first Ruiz fight, and this seemed to be a continuation of a loss of confidence he experienced after getting rocked by Wlad (that is, he seemed a bit gunshy against Joseph Parker). I don't think he fears getting rocked by Fury, rightly or wrongly. We are therefore most likely going to see the offensive, looking-for-a-stoppage version of Joshua, which is the dangerous version.
- Fury is bigger and heavier, but not stronger. The size and weight will help him in the clinch, but AJ's strength will likely make it difficult for him to maintain clinches and he will be at risk of getting battered on the inside.
That all said, Fury is the more natural fighter and criticism of Joshua for having some quit in him is probably not entirely unvalid. If Fury adminsters damage as he did against Wilder in the second fight, I would expect Joshua to have a No Mas moment.
I suspect Fury would take a lot of damage himself if he goes full on Kronk against Joshua though.Last edited by Monty Fisto; 08-28-2020, 02:44 PM.

I expect Joshua to be around 242/44 pounds in his next fight.
