Oh boy, context much? Ángulo wasn’t a title fight nor was Lara’s. And many “fans” don’t know that Angulo, Lara, and Kirkland had WAY MORE fights above 155+ before Canelo even stepped at that narrative. You realize 1lb of more water is welcomed BY ANY BOXER leading to the scale! That’s an advantage!

Besides the real politics is that Showtime almost cancelled the fight. The difference is that you canT do that with Canelo’s draw power because of the sales in advance. Nowadays we see a bunch of fighters being replaced last minute...

Showtime accidentally showed Angulo in the “All Access” series of Angulo sleeping around in the venue before the weigh ins. He was weighed deprived, and again, look at Angulo’s weights before the Canelo fight. Even in the post interviews of Angulo talking about the fight he cries about the weight cut. So tell me, would Angulo have performed better at 154? Lol. No! The show must go on! Ángulo never fought at those weights again! Canelo should be thanked for the 155 and gave Angulo a nice payday.
