Charlo’s basic, stiff fundamentals. It’s unfortunate that casuals don’t know how power is alleviated. Fight power with power and you will see a different Charlo like never before. Heilland, Centeno, Adams... these guys have no power even at the level of Canelo. When YOU FEEL that type of power, your boxing fundamentals freeze up, and I see Canelo stopping Jermall Charlo. That’s just how boxing works.

Keith Idec sounds like a casual ffs... lol
“He’d help sell the bout better than the low-key Smith and the fight itself would be intriguing because Alvarez typically has had more difficulty dealing with southpaws than orthodox boxers...”
Lara and Trout were ages ago. It’s actually surreal that Canelo at such a young age was fighting and tagging back, scoring, against those elites.
To put in perspective about TRUE SWITCH hitters (discussed like Crawford or a once Ward) is that Jacobs would spark both Trout or Lara, the Brooklynite that can switch up and GAVE GGG PROBLEMS because of it. But that context isn’t said because even journalists have things against Canelo. If they jumped in a ring they’d know. The Canelo today is leagues above Ring IQ than back then, so Jacobs is a better context. This is like saying Lomachenko has problems with Salido types when that was ages ago...as if “adjustments” isn’t a sweet science procedure.
Idec subtextually hating on Canelo. If he really wanted to report good journalism he would’ve said, “BJS at 168, said by many fans and the eye test, doesn’t look great at all and sluggish... it would make Canelo the high favorite and win by KO.” That’s the honest truth.
I’ll even take “Smith is a more difficult opponent than BJS.”
He might beat Trout but no way he would spark the Lara that fought Canelo and Hurd. He would get his ears boxed off, and he can't walk through fire like Hurd did.
You forget that GGG himself would rather fight Jacobs than Lara. He ducked Lara for years when he claimed everyone was ducking him but Lara kept calling him out and he would make the high risk low reward excuse.
He was eager to fight Jacobs though. Why you think that is?
Right now GGG won't fight Andrade even though they both at DAZN and both have belts, he'd rather fight the Rolls and Srimeta or whatever that guy is that he is fighting next.
He is ducking the guy who ducked Lara three times, and he himself ducked Lara for years.
Canelo also ran with his tail between his legs from the rematch with Lara.
Although to be fair I'm not to harsh on him for that since he did fight him the first time and typically the guys who didn't get the decision will always be more eager for a rematch than the guy who won. It's just the way it is.
Any, back on topic. Jacobs would get taken to school by Lara. Jacobs ain't no elite. He is a B+ at best.Comment

DAZN and Golden Boy Promotions have returned to the familiar negotiating position they occupied earlier this year. BoxingScene.com has learned that executives for the streaming service and Canelo Alvarez's promoters are constructively discussing the Mexican superstar returning to the ring on an undetermined date in November versus either Billy Joe Saunders or Callum Smith. Alvarez chose Saunders over Smith as his opponent for a May 2 fight at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but that event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Canelo and Oscar found out no matter how much Canelo wanted to beat up the Turk and get an easy 168 pound world title he is legally bound by contact not to fight on showtime. DAZN is paying him extremely well to fight for them only. They won't go along with him fighting a guy Eubank KOed in three rounds. So if Canelo wants to be a real full world champion at 168 he must beat either Sanders or Callum Smith. Canelo should easily beat either of them.Comment

I do. It is ten times better than him slaughtering a mediocre guy from Turkey. I would enjoy Saunders getting beat up because I don't like him. Callum Smith might not be so easy to beat and Canelo vs Smith would be a good fight to watch in my opinion.Comment

Canelo should fight GGG next May at 168. GGG just turned 38 so don't add two more yeas. He is older now but so is Canelo and Canelo ages just like all fighters age. Canelo is 30 now and he always has been much younger than GGG yet they are evenly matched.Comment

Bruh! Jacobs is a bum.
