The one fight that stands out to me is the Bruno rematch.

To be honest, it didn't look like his skills diminished at all in that fight. Bruno stated before the second fight that he was more prepared this time around as he knew what to expect and yet Tyson dispatched of him quicker than the first fight.

So what gives with people saying he was a shell of his self after prison?

No strictly conditioning....Tyson used to boast after blasting out bums post prison that he only trained a week

I think we have to take into account that Bruno wasn't the same fighter in the rematch either. From what I remember about Tyson post-prison vs. before that, he wasn't as sharp and he didn't have the head movement like before. He could still punch but he didn't have the same footwork and ability to set things up.

May be a bit, if not pysically than perhaps mentally, but mostly starting from the 90s Tyson started facing stiffer competition. A lot of people mistaken it with "his peak was over" or it was "due to Cus d'Amato". In the 80s, he faced no names or aging fighters which made him look very good and invincible.

I think this the truth but only a portion of it. I believe after the glitz and glamour and fame Tyson starting seeing boxing as a job instead of his original intent which I've always thought was to hurt people.

Boxing is mental. Tyson was mentally destroyed post prison bid. He would admit it himself.

In his prime though he was a bad man and great HW.

              Skills diminished?
              No.
              Discipline to training?
              Lost.
And he was that good that he didn't need to train as hard but man when he did...

Personally speaking for doing a bid, I think he had too much time to reflect on all the negative things that were surrounding him during the time he had. It wasnt a physical transformation, it was a mental one imo.

He was still very good after prison. His head movement was gone long before the **** case and he still had good fitness levels up to the second Holyfield fight. Like many punchers, Tysons downfall started when he neglected the skills he was taught and thought he could blast everyone out.
