I guess Ortiz wasn’t the house fighter . The “Rule” that some use as the excuse isn’t something that is practiced all round. You didn’t check the boxer in between the interval, but you decide to check AFTER the bell has rang and they have both got up to continue the next round ... Wasn’t Ruiz/Joshua 1 in NY? Ortiz was dropped by one punch and was saved by the bell from further punishment. While Wilder on the other hand was being battered all across the ring, while absorbing an enormous amount of punishment.

That fight could've been easily stopped and the doctors thought perhaps that it should've been stopped; Which was why they checked Wilder prior to the 8th round.
