Whyte stood off Povetkin because he respected his skills. Fury lay the blueprint, so Whyte would step to Wilder the same, exploiting his advantage in strength and size. Wilder went down with a bodyshot which the Bodysnatcher has every chance of repeating. Coming back from a one-punch KO as opposed to a full-on beatdown, I'd bet on Whyte.
Wilder would KO Whyte in 3 rounds.

Wilder has an incredible 1-2 straight down the pipe. Anyone who thinks different should watch the Breazeale fight. Prime example of what takes Whyte out. His chin is suspect as you mentioned in the original post.Comment

A fight of bums... and I am running out of here, LOL.
Now with respect:
I don't think Whyte has anything to offer, but Wilder only has a right hand.
To me both are doomed as soon as they fight real competition.
Whyte has stamina problems. Like I said, if the fight progresses he is going to have a hard time.
On the other hand, whomever connects first might get the other guy in trouble.
Anyway, I feel Wilder has a better chance if he doesn't get into the ring with a costume with Duracell batteries and is not pregnant and has a broken arm and was wan kin the night before and 3 thousand other excuses.Last edited by eco1; 08-24-2020, 11:10 AM.Comment

What happens if Whyte hooks off that telegraphed right hand of Wilder’s and catches him like he did Joshua? Does Wilder show the defensive responsibility of Joshua? Does Whyte blow out his shoulder again? Whyte can just as easily KO Wilder, that left hook of his would be the most powerful ounch Wilder has ever felt.
The problem with these definitive threads. Same way you all expected Povetkin to be a shot and done fighter (he’s not), Wilder going to kill Fury, Spence is going to kill everyone etc etc. Reality isn’t that straight forward.
And any analysis which consists solely on “other guy’s did this to him, so this will happen to him vs this guy” usually fail the hardest.Comment

Fury didn't just walk Wilder down, he used his footwork to bob in and out of range, and then used his size and inside skills to smother Wilder and work him.Whyte stood off Povetkin because he respected his skills. Whyte can't do anything like that, at some point he'll start trying to land, Wilder is an excellent counter puncher and will end up putting his lights out.Comment

Wilder needs space to throw his right hand, and Whyte wouldn't give him that distance. He actually has a jab that he can go in behind, he doesn't have to be Fury. We've seen Whyte come back from the Joshua loss; with Wilder the jury is still out, and I doubt after Fury 3 he'll be in any shape to beat Whyte.Fury didn't just walk Wilder down, he used his footwork to bob in and out of range, and then used his size and inside skills to smother Wilder and work him.

He can throw a jab, however he tends to get lazy with it and it gets timed.Wilder needs space to throw his right hand, and Whyte wouldn't give him that distance. Whyte has a really poor defence, I just don't see him avoiding Wilder’s heavy artillery.Comment
