Whyte did set himself up for a fall with all the trash talk about Fury and the sparring etc, all a bit needless and unnecessary. He can't complain now that the likes of Arum celebrate his failure. If he doesn't learn from this experience, he never will.

To be fair to Whyte he's taken the loss well and seems to have a good handle on things. He got 'clocked' after a technical error and has taken nothing away from Povetkin. Hope they can both provide the same level of fireworks before Christmas.

Its so funny.
They complain when you pick a weak opponent, they still complain when you pick a strong opponent.
Povetkin/whyte kind of match up is what we need in boxing, a real challenge and should be encouraged.
Whyte was in a strong position for a mandatory title fight but he risked it on the line to take a dangerous fight. He could have stayed idle and wait for his shot but the man is a warrior, he wants all the big names he can get, either win or loose.
We should encourage him to encourage others instead of slamming him on the face.

With wins over Klitschko and wilder. Fury has the best resume in the heavyweight division.

Whyte struggled with plenty of competition and gets knocked cold against Povetkin.
