Was there any need for him to be 252 pounds? Surely a impressive unit to the eye, but was that mass functional mass? I think in certain area's of his training he may have slightly miscalculated 'Whyte seems to have gotten progressively less flexible these past few years, speed has also decreased'.
Povetkin from the start of fight? Was right in the fight. I had to put the volume on mute, because the commentators where stating otherwise 'It was a competitive fight, but by no means was this a completely one sided fight from the start'. You could see the danger in Povetkin's work at all times etc
Good fight, Whyte has a real old school mentality. No side stepping, if somebody beats him? He wants to go straight back in there with him 'In today's business climate in boxing, that is unusual' due to the stereotypes and stigma's that come with taking a loss etc
Note: I do feel as if Whyte was trying abit to hard with intimidation tactics. The outfits, and the verbal threats of losing it and attacking people just before the fight 'Probably just frustration, with being in camp for so long'.Last edited by PRINCEKOOL; 08-23-2020, 05:56 AM.Comment

There shouldn't be "in the rematch"
No disrespect to Povetkin (I had Povetkin by 4 or past that then Whyte by 9) but Whyte should have won last night but everything about him gives boxers chances which is another clue Into why he's not mixing it with the best.. Povetkin read him like a book throughout the fight and said so himself..
The build up to the fight was all about fighting Fury and calling Fury names even up until the day.. that's not a way to prepare for a fight, take your eye off the ball and you're getting put to sleep as evidence backs up..
Even in his hideaway in Portugal he was having celebs turn up and train and party with him. He's not good enough to play those games...
Maybe he goes and reflects and prepares right and comes back to beat him in the rematch, maybe he won't..
either way he won't get over that loss imoComment

I would be way more confident now of Whyte winning the rematch then this fight he lost . We got to see how the fight unfolded but if we are talking real a big advantage would be in Whytes favor with slight adjustments made .
I’d rather Povetkin get another title shot he’s earned it but it won’t happen and we will get the rematch, a great rematch but if Povetkin gets bombarded after two knockdowns he loses that fight and Whyte goes for it in round 5 would probably be a different ending .Comment

Povetkin had no issues getting inside v Whyte, and will be able to again. Whyte hasn’t got the feet to fight at range, the reach isn’t enough.
because Whyte hasn’t got that mobility to keep out of range and now he might even be more hesitant to let his shots go to catch Povetkin coming in because he got ironed out, that might actually give Povetkin more freedom to let them shots go once he’s there.
Whyte can beat this faded Povetkin but there’s a big chance this happens again. Povetkin knows what he needs to do and Whyte hasn’t really got the tools to stop Povetkin using his style.Comment

If I was Alex I would not take that fight and if he did it should be in Russia instead of the rotten corrupt UK. all countries favor their own fighter but UK is way worse then anybody. in the Joseph Parker fight whyte committed tons of fouls. scored a KD with a butt. he should have been disqualified in one of the dirtiest fight I ever sawComment
