I think he is wrong, whilst he might have hit Povetkin to the canvas I don't think Povetkin was seriously shaken up or hurt like the ones AJ did to Sasha. To me it looked like Sasha could take the shots Whyte threw at him, but it had more to do with him being caught at the perfect timing because his balance was off and the shots from Whyte were very sneaky disguised well.

I bet AJ is dying to laugh at him, will people drop the idea that Whyte could have beat Wilder now? Wilder has way more firepower than Povetkin, it wouldn't even be close.

AJ is absolutely right because a wounded fighter is the most dangerous fighter. Once Dillian dropped Povetkin twice in the fourth round he should have came out in the fifth round with a renewed sense of urgency and killer instinct. However, he didn't. He just simply decided to coast and allowed Povetkin to linger and survive long enough to KO him.

He very nearly came unstuck against Klitschko with that attitude and did against Ruiz Jnr. It's a bit like you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. I think Whyte was very happy with the rate at which he was breaking Povetkin down. After the 2 knockdowns in the 4th he likely thought it would all be over, early in the 5th - and he wasn't wrong was he.

Let’s see, Joshua got stopped by Ruiz Jr in their 1st fight then stayed out of harms way boxing against an out of shape and unmotivated Ruiz Jr in the rematch, afraid to get stopped again. Yup, that’s big time killer instinct.

He did the first Ruiz fight. He finally admitted it in an interview just before the 2nd fight. He had surgery for whatever was wrong.

But tbh I don't think he would have won that fight anyway because he didn't have the power to take Ruiz out. Wilder beating Breazele so fast was what made AJ lose that fight. He felt he had to do the same and paid the price.

AJ did exactly the right thing the 2nd fight.

I am a Whyte fan but always said on here that Wilder would *most likely* beat him. The point for me was that Whyte deserved the fight and should have got it. How did Breazeale deserve it ahead of him?

Also Wilder still hasn't proved himself against a young live fighter. Ortiz was 39/40 and Fury beat Wilder up after being retired and fat. So I'd still like to see Wilder/Whyte.

Do you think Whyte has proven himself more than Wilder? I'd have liked to see the fight with Wilder and Whyte, but I'm just going off what is reported he failed a drug test. Far as I am aware, Wilder has never failed one!

I honestly think if Whyte say didn't take that uppercut in the 5th, I think Povetkin was on his way to figuring him out. I say that he would have beat Whyte up for 12 rounds if it did go 12. People are looking too much into the 4th round thinking, oh this is over Whyte has easily got this one figured out even though Povetkin was landing some decent stuff in the 4th its just unfortunate he sacrificed his balance in the exchanges thus resulting on him being decked.

That was a crazy punch. Perfect. And all the more devastating because it was completely unexpected.
