Damn. Formella is a TOUGH SOB

Dude was still throwing even in exchanges and landing. It's crazy.

If Victor Ortiz ever fights again, that'd be a fight I'd want to see.

It's crazy to me that the guy who stopped Andre Berto in short order couldn't even drop Sebastian 'Man Bun' Formella.

The guy (Formella) has made a fan. I hope he gets a chance to defend his IBO against guys outside of Germany.

Porter never could bust a g**** but he's strong as an ox. If Porter isn't able to wear you down through attrition, you'll likely going to see the final bell.

I'd like to see Formella in there with guys like Guerrero, Algieri or even Kamegai if he hasn't retired, or even Ray Robinson or a weight class test for Gary Russell Jr.. Guys who have a similar pace and not overly aggressive.

Because it looks like he's got skill, he just doesn't have power. So Algieri for example would be a good showcase for what his true skill level is.

Or, was he purposely just not throwing hard against Porter for some reason?

We all know Porter has a chin when he sees the punches, but he took quite a few counter straights he couldn't have seen flush on the chin and never stopped coming.

Hell yeah! Dude, kept on coming even while eating shots in the process. He put up a very good showing and displayed a ton of heart; Despite being a limited and overmatched opponent.

But the thing is - did that hurt Porter?

I thought Porter looked stylistically good, BUT he was eating too many punches in order to look good.

And then to be taken the full distance against Formella when he was easily able to dispatch Andre Berto.

The question is did the fight show you guys some decline from Porter? Not in terms of style but just the fact that he's no longer anywhere near able to KO or stop anyone?

It feels like he's now the perfect definition of a welterweight gatekeeper. If you're not elite you're not beating him, he's not going to be able to stop you or knock you out, yet if you have a good showing against him it may open doors for you.

Hard to say??? Porter was trying way to hard for a KO...

Tough guy. He was undefeated for a reason.

I would love to see him fighting Lipinets or Kavaliauskas.
