What is sad about it?
Povetkin is a gold medalist and elite fighter.
The division is deep and hot right now. Many names in the top 20, and prospects to be excited about. The #1 guy in the division is possibly the GOAT.
How can anyone complain about HW right now? Just crazy.

He was losing every round till he landed the knock out, that's HW boxing it happens. But to be losing every round and getting dropped against someone like Whyte tells you he's no where near decent let alone elite.
I don't want to get into why I think Whyte is a c level fighter but after watching him against Wach I knew he would lose the fight against Povetkin. Check my posts before the fight, I knew he would lose.
And to say that the HW division is "deep and hot" tells me that you either just started to watch boxing or you're very young and don't remember when great or even decent fighters were in the HW division.
I am a big Tyson Fury fan and I think for a guy his height he moves very very good. But let's talk about some of the fighters right now. Let's start with Joshua, a top HW guy who hasn't impressed in any of his fights. He went life and death against a 40+ year old klitschko, even there he got knocked down. Joshua had trouble in nearly every fight, a big muscular guy who has no real skills.
In his fight against Ruiz he quit like a girl, he got whooped big time. In the rematch we know that Ruiz didn't really care about the fight, he had a taste of big money so he didn't give a sh**..he was eating pizza the night before the rematch. Joshua knew the condition of Ruiz, he was running circles around him all night. If he was anything his fans think he is, he should of knocked out Ruiz, especially after Ruiz made him look like the B- level fighter he really is.
Then we have the other HW "top dog" Deontay Wilder, a guy who has NOTHING except his right hand. He has no jab, the guy has no fkn movement, the guy has zero foot work..he knocked a few bums out and boxing fans like you made him into a legend, some even mentioned his name with Muhammad Ali, because he beat people like 50 year old Ortiz and that Breazeale bum or w.e his name is
That my friend is the division you're thinking so highly of, but the truth is the division is in a pathetic state. Back in the days fighters like the Povetkins,Whytes,Wilders and Joshuas were considered as Journeyman. Respect to Fury but I wish he fought in a different era, when the HW had decent fighters..right now with the rubbish what is floating in the division he's not really getting tested.

But that is why division is competitive under championship level.

I got Fury, Povetkin will have a shot, but I see Fury winning by decision.
Povetkin will have to beat Whyte again, plus wait for AJ Fury fight, so it might never even happen.

I used to think Fury was a joke
When Cunningham almost stopped him, I thought fury was a joke. Then he beat Klitschko. Then he beat Wilder. Twice. I picked against him in all three fights. I realize he is the real deal. I’m not picking against him anymore.
