Couple tune-ups to “earn it” and once fans are allowed, they’ll pack out an arena for a payday, and the second retirement of Martinez.

    Murata brutalizes him.

Murata has a massive following. Big $$ and probably easiest chance for a belt @ 160

ALl the nay sayers here who discredit him are losers who are always saying I can't , it is bad this or that. Martinez looked good. they are probably the same dudes who said Pavlik will kill him and starch him, or Wialliams will kill him.Wrong 3 times.Martinez is very smart in the ring it is a really complicated style. If he was American will have been compared with guys like Pernell. martinez deserves all the recognition and respect. He looked terrific for coming after 72 fractures.

Martinez's legs are stil shot. Can we blame him for trying to make an extra buck? no. Can we blame the public for not buying into it? Same answer.

Exactly. His legs aren't coming back... And Martinez without legs is like winter olympics in the Ba*****.

His 2009-2012 legs aren't coming back but his legs looked sturdy enough. I think a baby-step up in competition is reasonable and at the very least he accomplished something major by even getting back in the ring to compete.

Ryota Murata is the current lineal middleweight champ, so that would be an interesting way for Martinez to regain his crown.

Murray was robbed by Martinez. Murray then robbed Sergey Khomitsky. Khomitsky was then beaten by Alfonso Blanco. Blanco was then beaten by Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam. And finally Ryota Murata beat N'Jikam for the lineal crown.

It's a bit more complicated than this though because arguably Nick Blackwell was robbed by Khomitsky before Blanco beat him. Long story short, this would make Billy Joe Saunders the current lineal champion.

Saunders and Murata need to fight to unify their lineal titles and settle this once and for all.

Lmao bro just stop Murata is not the lineal champion.

Eh I mean Murata is garbage anyways Sergio 10 years ago would have knocked him out in under 6 but **** if Hopkins could do it against a subpar champion like Shumenov then Martinez has a chance although very slim the youth is what sets it apart but it would funny to see Sergio win one last belt when everyone is counting him out including myself.

Not saying Murata isn't garbage. But facts are facts. Can't deny boxing history.
