Yup, which is why he got picked. Lets say he even does outpoint Porter, they wont give him the decision anyway.

Nobody's praising the opponent. But let's be clear here because you're talking apples/oranges.

Shawn Porter is fresh off a very career-shortening war with Errol Spence.

Before that he had a career-shortening war with Yordenis Ugas.

Before that, career-shortening war with Danny 'Swift'.

Before that, career-shortening war with Adrian Granados.

Before that, career-shortening war with Andre Berto.

Before that, tough out (but not career shortening) against Keef.

Before that, a breeze that shouldn't have been against Broner.

I could go on and on. Bottom line, Porter's faced TOUGH opposition for the past 6 years straight without a break. He's earned a soft touch.

Unlike Crawford who's doing it in reverse.

Something tells me this will be a tougher fight than expected for Porter.

If you do watch the fight, be on the look out for Formella's check hook. I've seen him land it from pretty smart angles in the phone booth. Porter will have to have the same workrate he had against Spence and I'm not sure he will think he needs to do that. But if he doesn't do that, like I said, I think Formella takes him the distance. Porter has to get this guy out of there in 6 rounds with just straight up linebacker pressure.

I actually considered putting some bets in on this. Even the bookies think it's HIGHLY likely to go the distance or a Porter stoppage, so if there was ever a time to bet on long odds this is it.

I actually just noticed that he's promoted by the same guy that promotes Dimitrenko. And that promoter's roster doesn't seem to have a lot of losses. Hmm

Truer words have never been spoken. That’s been my take on Porter for a while now. It’s such a shame that he’s come up short in all his losses.
And you’re right, Porter’s style is not the kind that has longevity.

Btw, had anyone heard of Jeff Horn or Algieri before they fought PAC?
At least Porter is honest to admit that
