I feel he was bluffing the whole time with this fight. Navarrete is all wrong for magdaleno. They could of offered half a million and he’d ask for more

Out of those 3 high level PPV's only 1 was entertaining enough to not feel bad purchasing the only reason they can put those type of cards together is because they have control over a large amount of name fighters that they recycle for fights.

100k for a title shot is a slap in the face normally I get pissed when I see fighters turning down fights over purses but he is a former world champion and deserves at least 250k I'd think especially in a fight against someone like Navarette high risk low reward especially for 100k. I don't really like Magdaleno that much as a fighter either just saying how it should be for these type of fights he's not asking for millions but that 100k will turn into 50k after expenses really quick.

I'm not really gonna get in to how much PPVs cost cause I stream all of it for free. The fact that those fights were available was enough for me as it game me an opportunity to watch if I wanted.

I don't think title shots are prestigious or warrant any kind of extravagant pay in boxing. One sanctioning body gives out four of them in every weight class and Magdaleno is barely a top-10 featherweight at that.

In my opinion, take the money, earn the win, look forward to more paydays in the future. But hey if he thinks there's a market for his services out there, God bless him.

I feel ya. But like you said, homie turned down UFC PPV money. UFC can put high-quality events bc they pay their stars fighters the same money that guys like Magdaleno turned down(sometimes even less than that) & as solid a fighter as he is, he is far from a star. Boxing ain't a monopoly, so we're stuck with that nonsense that promoters & managers be on as you stated. At least the sport is somewhat picking up with matchups like Garcia-Campbell & Lomachenko-Lopez. Its coming back slowly, but it is coming back.

Not mad at Jessie at all, $100K in which what at minimum 10% goes to Trainer, then another 10% to Manager among other expenses I'm sure DAMN!

Don't forget taxes, which come off the top, before expenses.
