I question Looez’ mental state. He was struggling with some emotional/mental stuff last year and earlier this year. I have to wonder how he will handle adversity and being pushed to his limits. Providing Loma is in top form himself. Ring rust will hurt Loma more.Comment

Love Lopez but if he doesn’t come in at 100% for AT LEAST the second half of the fight, he won’t win.
Rounds 1-4: He’s going to have to be patient for a while before he shows his cards. Jabs and body shots from both outside and inside. He should try to wrestle-hold and force Loma to expend energy without taking punches.
Rounds 4-7: Start to switch the tune with more explosive power and pop shots. But more importantly, turn up the effective aggression while still wrestling and backing him up. Back up and retreat only to break his momentum and rhythm.
7-9: The most crucial rounds!! If it lasts this long! Lopez must be patient and make the fight boring. Use his explosiveness to engage and then disengage making Loma wanting to commit each time. To frustrate the matador himself the bull must not engage.
9-10: If Teo does all of the above perfectly, he will be able to use his size and power to hurt Loma. Maybe even enough to take him out. If he does not, it means he wasn’t experienced or patient enough to take him on at this time.
If this fight goes the distance I favor Loma.Comment

Fifty-fifty fight for me. Lopez by KO is my pick. I wouldn't be surprised either way, although I want Lopez to KTFO of Loma.
Let's not use age, injury, or inactivity as an excuse or combined excuses if Loma loses. You can't pick him and then cry later after the fact.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 08-20-2020, 10:14 PM.Comment

I’m sure Lopez isn’t coming with the same gameplan he’s used with past opponents, of course he’s practicing different angles and views to accommodate Loma’s style! I’m picking Lopez to win by late stoppage and pulling biggest upset of the year, just like Salido did on Loma’s 2nd pro fight but a much cleaner fight with no low blows!Comment

I wouldn't see as an upset. It'd be a good win for Lopez, nothing earth shattering. Wouldn't mind seeing him against Davis after he beats Loma, right away.
War Lopez!Comment
