The contract said the rematch had to happen by July this year. But of course, that wasn't possible because of the Covid outbreak. I don't think they would have rewritten and resigned the contract with a new deadline, so it's possible that Fury is now free to move on and fight somebody else.

I hope that's what happens. Wilder and his team have been blocking the unification of the HW division for way too long now.

Wilder only option is Fury he knows and PBC isn't going to keep him around without a belt or that fight so there is no game around it. His silence is that he knows his career is likely over so he looking at other avenues for making money.
