Yildrim doesn't deserve a title shot against Canelo and Canelo doesn't deserve a WBC title shot full stop. Who has he beat at super-middleweight? Rocky fúcking Fielding Even if the WBC had the same rules as the WBO (former champion in a different weight gains automatic mandatory—at their discretion—for a title when moving up or down a weight), Canelo captured the WBA (Regular) title, which would obviously relinquish that right.

Regardless, it's bad times when a network has the final say on who a fighter faces. If anything, WBC should order Canelo vs. Smith as Smith is the Diamond champion after all.

I dont think Canelo's team actually want that fight though. Smith is too tall, too big of a reach and still has the power to trouble Canelo. Do I think Smith is more skilled than Canelo? Not by a long shot. But I think the size and power would see Canelo's fall from grace. Stay at middleweight, the last of the little men. You caught Kovalev (who you hardly did anything to until the stoppage) at the right time. Super-middleweight and above is too much if your going against much bigger guys in or around their prime.

I get DAZN. I mean, Canelo isn't known outside hardcore fans, Mexicans and Mexican-american casual fans.

Well guess what, CANELO HAS A CONTRACT.. starting to seem race is clearly at play here

Glad DAZN is not paying for garbage fights, I'm a Canelo fan but I will not support trash mismatches, I consider this dude to be the #2 P4P of the world and he has to fight a top guy to give respect to his status.

IMHO I'd be salivating if Smith offered me a fight and I was Alvarez, just my onpinion but I think the dude is taylor made for him, looong and skinny body, I'd go the whole body all night and I'm almost sure I'd stop him before the fight ended. Alvarez is a much better inside fighter and body puncher than Ryder, Smith just doesn't have that slick style to bother Canelo.

Smith doesn't have Kovalev's jab to keep Alvarez with a high tight guard, he would use that upperbody movement like Ryder and counter the hell out to his body.

But it's just me, fight could actually play very different.

Hahaha, yes, I suppose that's one scenario. Has dazn clarified exactly who they are prepared to stump up the contracted $40m for other than Golovkin, who apparently is allowed to fight no-hopers for his contract fee?

Won’t approve any of Canelo’s fights but approved a bunch of youtuber’s fights!?

DAZN is a sinking ship and Canelo needs to jump off board ASAP!

Hey rather work at Wendy’s than collect welfare like you’re ass.

                      Stay in those projects chump.
