Comments Thread For: David Haye: Joyce Must Be A Bit Smarter, Lighter & Move More Against Dubois

David Haye wasn't especially pleased with how Joe Joyce performed during his third-round, technical-knockout victory over Michael Wallisch last month in London. The former WBA heavyweight champion considered Joyce too heavy and too reckless, even against an unimposing opponent who had been stopped in three of his previous four fights. Haye, an analyst for BT Sport, hopes Joyce comes better prepared for his domestic showdown with Daniel Dubois

Yeah he should be a bit lighter but not by much.

Joyce is Joyce at the end of the day, he is what he is he's not going to be up on his toes dancing like Ali.

He should play to his strengths, he has size on Dubois and probably workrate, he needs to tuck up inside, put his weight on Dubois early, keep it tight and get through to the second half without taking too much heavy blows. If he does that he's in with a good chance.

I don't see this being a blow out for Dubois, I think both guys have a reasonable chance on the night.

Completely agree, Joyce needs to play to his strengths!
I give Joyce a chance as he’s tough and will put Dubois under real pressure which is something we’ve yet to see.

Joyce does not need to do all this. His superior technique combined with pressure fighting style, Dubois will fold as soon he gets a chance.

Joyce has got a very good chance here. This is a proper 50-50 fight which is what makes it exciting. We'll see who's got it to shine on the day. Joyce is tough, he can give it and take it. Dubois better watch out.

Pretty much as I see it. The more I think about it the more it looks like a 50/50 fight, I think Dubois needs to finish Joyce in six rounds.
After that he runs out of ideas, some gas, and I see Joyce stopping him. Having said that, I would not be surprised if it went to the score cards.
I give Joyce a very slight edge in this fight.
