But anyway lol at comparing Benavidez to Chavez Jr

Dude has discipline issues but can fight. That was never in question. Some of you guys get carried away....

    Just more random thoughts.....

Both undisciplined and are drugies. Other than that I don’t see much comparison.

Chavez has at times been able to fight. His run up to the Martinez fight was pretty good. Benavidez is a young guy but already known for a coke habit and blowing weight. That puts him a quit job away from being Chavez Jr.

Chavez Jr. looked sluggish and unmotivated against an OLD Sergio Martinez.

You would never see David Benavidez looking like that. Instead, he's the guy forcing the fight. Coming forward with a million punches while his opponent is gasping for air.

Chavez Jr never looked as good or been as talented as David Benavidez...EVER!

Benavidez was a FAT Kid in the Amateurs, so for him to be able to get all the way down to 168 and become 2x Champion, I don't question his Dedication or Work Ethic at all because he would've never gotten that far down in weight (All the way down from being as high as 250lbs as a 13 year old) to begin with...

Not making excuses for him but fighters grow out of weight classes! He is 23 year old so yes it is not out of the possibility that he has out-grown 168. I don't think he is completely done at 168, I do think with a regular camp outside of that "Boxing Bubble" or whatever they have setup, I think he will make 168 again especially for one of the big money fights potential at 168

I think Benevides has more potential than Chavez had but nonetheless, that comparison has some merit.

They should not be compared. Benavidez is a hell of a good fighter while Chavez Jr is just average and quits when things get hard in the ring.

Benavidez was a 14 year old fat kid going 12 rounds in sparring with top heavyweights and allegedly putting serious hands em.

Competitive sparring with GGG at age 16 is all you need to know. Yes, competitive.

So unfair to to compare Benavidez to Chavez Jr.

Sicko has the right idea. He is 23 year old so yes it is not out of the possibility that he has out-grown 168. He was disappointed at not making weight. I don't think he is done at 168. it's not like he came in 5-6 lbs over the 168-pound limit (just 2.8 pounds).

Chavez Jr lacked his daddy's heart.
