So the article says they're looking into adding other boxers and mentioned Errol Spence Jr and Terrence Crawford. If EA is considering a crossover sports game as their next project, this would be huge on the market

Personally, I think that the biggest deterrent to making another boxing game is due to having all of these promoters. You have Matchroom, Top Rank, PBC, and Golden Boy having the majority of the boxers. Each one will charge a crazy licensing fee to use the boxers they represent. The UFC has the majority of the MMA fighters. One company, one fee. We don't see Bellator fighters, just UFC. That says something right there.
EA just does't want to spend that money on those licensing fees because come on ... they have the programing down with UFC. It would be soooooooooo easy to just use that to make a boxing game.
They just don't want to deal with the different promotors to get the licensing fees. That's what I think the big problem is.

This is a slap in the face for boxing fans. Has boxing fell off so bad that our heavyweights champions have to be put in a UFC video game ? Like there isn’t a big enough market for a new Fight Night ? Or even a new Ready 2 Rumble ?
