There is only one authentic WBC lightweight title, the one that is fought for. Vasily Lomachenko surrendered said title, and Devin competed for it and won the championship honorably.
Regardless of what critics feel about Zaur Abdullaev ( who was suppose to fight for the WBC lightweight title instead of Lomachenko ), Abdullaev, like Devin Haney, honored the rules in fighting the highest ranked contender, to earn the opportunity to fight for the WBC lightweight title.
The World Boxing Council understands that championships must be fought for and defended to make a case for the validity of a title, this is the reason why they are making the 'Franchise' title up for grabs in Lomachenko vs. Lopez.
Mauricio Sulaiman and the World Boxing Council are screwing Devin Haney, how is it possible that Teofimo Lopez is worthy of this honor, but the man that has been following your rules and protocols cant face your 'Franchise' champion?
There is a clear bias and unfair agenda that is catering to interested parties and Vasily Bumchenko is the agent of this chaos.
It is just a cash grab by the WBC and it's pretty bull**** because it ruins the chance at an undisputed 135 champion on paper even though everyone who was a fan during this generation knows whoever wins this fight is the undisputed king at 135 Loma never lost his belt that he won just a few weeks before Haney meanwhile I think Devin Haney is the only fighter to become a 2 time champ via email must be nice to be politically tied when you haven't even fought a former world champion yet.
Don't act like Haney would have been ready for Lomachenko and Teo bypassed him somehow. Lopez earned his shot by demolishing a world champion in 2 rounds not fighting 12-0 Santiago and looking like garbage just like the Ndongeni and Burgos fights he has one good win in Abdullaev who was untested himself and that's about it how is he more deserving.
People forget they gave Santiago like 12 days notice to fight Haney meanwhile Devin knew he was fighting that day and had a full camp lol classic tactics. Haney messed up his shoulder he wouldn't have been ready to fight by May when the fight was originally scheduled so you are just reaching on some ho **** he got lucky with the Covid-19 so he was able to heal up and not get left behind as everybody was in the same situation but now you act like he can just jump in front of the line na how about he fights someone with a pulse first and then we can talk.Comment

Citizen Koba
See. Been telling everyone that if the WBC chooses to do these nonsensical and inconsistent rules for the “Franchise belt” means that Sulaiman can’t be trusted. As I said from the beginning, the WBC had setup Canelo with the Clenbuterol finding. What’s unfortunate is that VADA couldn’t take sides or even be objective because K2 would attack any objectivity in that WADA hadn’t established a threshold yet...
The WBC likes to impose belts on whomever. When the WBC kept on seeing that Canelo wasnt accepting these indigenous belts or REFUSING the REGULAR BELT, they decided to do the hit piece on Canelo. Isn’t it obvious?
Now look at this new Franchise fiasco for Lopez should he win?
Sulaiman can’t be trusted. It’s even said about the WBA and WBO. IBF only plays “nice” because they were dealt with before at the Federal level...Comment

You can't be serious dude at least make sense in what you are trying to say Lomachenko won the WBC vacant belt against Campbell just a few weeks before Devin Email Haney fought Abdullaev for the "interim" belt so what do you mean the WBC champ is the one that is fought for.
I do not penalize Devin Haney for Lomachenko's dirty political scheming and neither should you, why blame a man that actually wanted to fight Lomachenko and was rightfully in line for the opportunity ahead of Teofimo, by the very rules of the WBC?

Team Lomachenko was never going to go through with the fight and you know it.
I conclude this post with a fantastic clip of the 'REAL' WBC champ, in his first successful title defense against the undefeated Alfredo Santiago. A reminder, the scores reflect a masterful performance by Devin 'The Dream' Haney, all judges | Karen Holderfield 107-120 | Alejandro Rochin 107-120 | Zachary Young 107-120.
107-120 across the board.Last edited by 1hourRun; 08-14-2020, 07:24 AM.Comment

We all know the franchise belt was created as a direct result of the wbc not wanting Canelo to throw another hissy fit over them enforcing a mandatory. They had to give Loma one also in order to not make it seem so blatant. Now they've painted themselves into a corner where they said you can't lose the belt (because they knew canelo would bounce to different weight classes) , but now maybe Loma can lose it to Lopez. It's all a joke and that title has asnkitrkw value as a wba regular title of not less.Comment

wait a minute this doesn't make sense? so if teo beats loma then does he get a wbc belt or he is only recognized as franchise champion? is loma gonna walk out with the wbc belt or what? this almost getting comical?Comment

When you vacate a championship you are no longer its owner, do you understand? I never said that Vasily Lomachenko did not compete for the WBC lightweight championship. Devin Haney and Zaur Abdullaev were the highest ranked contenders in line according to the WBC rankings. If Vasily Lomachenko would of made his intentions clear ( that he was never going to fight Devin Haney or Zaur Abdullaev) then the WBC would of stripped Vasily and declared Haney vs. Abdullaev for WBC lightweight title.

I strongly disagree, the winner of Lopez vs. Lomachenko will be lineal, sure, but undisputed means possessing all the world titles ; the 'Franchise' title is not a genuine world championship -- Devin Haney still holds a portion of the crown.
Devin Haney has nearly twice the amount of professional fights than Teofimo Lopez, how can you say that the actual WBC champion is not ready for the 'Franchise' champion?
Vasily fought Luke Campbell a month before Devin Haney beat Zaur Abdullaev for the WBC 'Interim' Lightweight title, about a month later Lomachenko was declared 'Franchise' champ ; and Loma also suffered injury during his fight with Luke, by the way.
Team Lomachenko was never going to go through with the fight and you know it.
