Can't be too sure of that, especially when you're super ****y and think that nobody could ever beat you. It's yet to be seen how Lopez would take a loss. He could easily just self destruct. If he does lose, rebuilds and comes back wiser and stronger, that would be a testament to his character and determination. I don't know how you could be fully confident that losing to Loma would positively affect Lopez's future career though. Time will tell.
Hopefully for him he doesn't get up bad and stopped like Wilder was against Fury. Wilder wasn't the same even after the first fight with Fury where he was outboxed and got a draw. He was never the smartest guy around but getting stopped by "feather fisted" Fury may have sent him totally bonkers. It could potentially happen to Lopez.Comment

Wilder doesn’t come close to the talent Lopez has
Lopez , imo , will be alright even if he loses
His ego is to big and will come back stronger
This will take time but people will convince him that Loma is great boxer , so losing to him will be ok
I think him and his old man made a cheque they can’t cash and reality slowly but surely is settling in
He is literally against the wall , the only thing he can say now and still criticized is he can’t make weight and if that happens I honestly think Loma won’t fight himComment

Personally, I think Teofimo will bounce back. I do believe that, so long as the public doesn't stone him for his trash talking.Wilder doesn’t come close to the talent Lopez has

The one whom I think will be devastated is his father. Lopez, Sr. will be mentally smashed. He's living vicariously through his son, and I do believe that when Lopez loses this fight, and I am sure he will, it will cause a split between father and son.Comment

I don’t think they will split up or anything
Just do believe the loss will make him better
Maybe even humbleComment

They often don't see eye to eye. There's a lot of arguments between them. There's other reasons, too, for why I believe they'll split. Just saying .... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯Comment

The buttering is cause both are very similar
But I’ll give the old man credit for taking this far
Teo wouldn’t be able to without himComment

If he doesn't make weight I think Loma will still fight him. Lomachenko has a personal grudge against Lopez. If it was anyone else he probably wouldn't but there's bad blood here.Wilder doesn’t come close to the talent Lopez has

I dont get where Lopez says he doesn't like Loma. Loma has worked had his whole life to get where he is now. Lopez was just jealous and his team started this feud to make himself a name.
Time to put up. Can't wait to see what happens.Comment

Absolutely. He deserves a Gold Medal. He beat all the odds. I don't want to see them split, but it appears to me that Lopez, Jr., in his own way, looked forward to having this fight pushed out. I think he was relieved with the possibility of a title defense.
But there was so much pressure built up for this fight, and with Loma forking over some money to get him in the ring, and with his dad doing so much talking about how he'll walk through Loma, he was locked in, with no ability to escape.
I mean, there's that part of him that wants to take this fight now, and he's obviously signed the deal for this fight already, but I believe Lopez, Jr. felt a tremendous relief when it was possible for his being able to fight someone other than Loma. He liked the possibility of being able to revisit the Loma fight in another year or so. I think that if he could have chosen that option without any repercussion, from the public and Top Rank, he would have gladly gone that route. And part of that reason is just due to the pandemic putting his life (and just about everyone else) in a state of upheaval.
Anyway, the father has all my respect for the love he has for his son and all the exceptional work he's done to bring him to where he is now.
I just think that they've bit off more than they can chew with Lomachenko, and it's going to have a negative effect on Teofimo Lopez, Jr.'s career. Because let's face it, almost everyone who's fought Lomachenko has been relegated to the nether regions of boxing, especially if they lose in fantastic fashion.Comment
