That's the "Tyson hater routine". Most of them don't even remember how the fight really went. When he snapped, winning didn't matter anymore to him.

Yes a fight with a referee, getting paid, ringside doctor 'Very few of the top top elite guys are truly afraid'. The only time when I think fighters may become very fearful is when facing big punchers.

That is why historically big punchers have always been able to intimidate, Foreman, Tyson, Liston etc

I find it frustrating this narrative after all of these years has stuck that Tyson butted Holyfield "because he was frustrated" it was because of the headbutts. Whether or not those were intended is besides the point. Tyson believed they were practiced and purposeful and had said so before the rematch and during the rematch. He could not get away from them hence the reaction. Now of course it was over the top but it wasn't done "out of frustration" it's ridiculous that people thing if he is taken to deep waters or later rounds he'll do something crazy. That simply isn't the case.

Yeah it isn’t fair to Tyson. Holyfield had a history of using his head and it’s so clear that the head butting was bothering Tyson and actually affecting the fight and Lane didn’t care. I understand where Tyson was coming from. Now it was a little, umm, crazy. But I understand that the frustration was the head butting, not because of Holyfield’s boxing ability or something like that.

In all honesty, I think they’re pretty evenly matched. It’s just that Holyfield can take more and has a higher gas tank. That’s the difference. Even the first fight was very competitive up until the last round.
