Swarmers are effective against pure boxers, not punchers or boxer-punchers.
Do boxer punchers generally struggle against speedy swarmers?

I knew that they were getting uncomfortable with the constant pressure, and that just pushed me to push them even harder. There were guys that boxed so well that they would just deal with it (Bronco McCart) and made it hell for me. I could play the boxer, sticking the jab and using the ring. Bronco was just a tough guy with great skills, I knew that I couldn't outbox him, so I told my trainer that I wanted to be a pressure fighter when we started up together. If my opponent moves than I want to be on him. And if he moves again, I am right on him just the same. It was tough to learn but I caught on. For myself, either boxing or pressing, speed funked up my groove. I hated when guys were faster than me...…..Rockin'

Swarmer = guy ontop of you, charging/pushing and keeping you off balance or throwing a lot of punches. Porter along with Maidana can often can be described as swarmers. The keyword here is “swarm”.
Brawler/slugger = Just a guy swinging bombs, looking for the KO.Last edited by SplitSecond; 08-09-2020, 12:04 PM.Comment
