Not pathetic, just like in basketball, baseball, and other sports, the rest of the world has caught up.

I really think that America will have somebody come up in the ranks again: there is probably some poor kid in America that is a tough kid who is going to want to get out of poverty and will be motivated to bring back the titles to America...he will know that if he can do that, he will be RICH, and money is a great motivation.
The great thing about America is the "Dream": there is the Rich Class, the middle class {which is in a demise}, and of course the Poor class...when you are in a country that has all of these classes and it has shown before that if you want it bad enough, have the raw talent, you can go from Poor to Rich and it is applauded.

One last thing, if you notice once again, most of these foreign born Champions live in the states; even in sports that are in the Olympics, their athletes train here.
What you have to realize is that if the kid is 6'2 or taller and a good athelete then he is probably already being groomed for Basketball and Football. There are scouts for Highschool in these sports. Not Colleges scouting highschool players but highschools scouting summer leagues, AAU and Popwarner.

The top american Big Athletes will be more inclined to pursue football or basketball where the payoff is bigger and where they are being inticed to those sports by coaches and family at a very young age.

The only way I see another great American heavy weight is something like this: A big good athelete is also a deliquent and gets arrested fairly young and sent to jouvenile detention. He picks up boxing at Juvi and realizing that he has a natural apptitude for boxing pursues it upon his release while he is still 16-18years old.

Other than that I see the American Big Athlete Reserves being depleted by the other major sports.

In basketball the world has improved, however, the USA not sending itsbest players or best player combinations to win. We would just send any ol superstar combination and expect to blow people out, not to mention those players didint spend alot of time with each other, which lead to the two beatings we received during the olympics. They changed that format, and now we are back to 20/30/40 point blowouts in the exhibitions leading up to the world basketball championships (that we placed 7th in, in 2002).

Baseball, people dont understand, japan has been playing baseball for about 100 years, and people all over the world have been playing, its lack of popularity in europe and africa dont reflect its huge popularity in latin america and asia. So pretty much to a certain degree, the baseball playing field is very very even.

Boxing is just not popular in america, there are no sports illustrated covers of fighters, on sportscenter they hardly mention even their own main events on ESPN. The sport gets hardly any coverage. Kids dont grow up idolizing Tyson (as i did), or Ali, or Holyfield or whoever anymore.

Isn't Russia in Asia, or most of it anyway.

I was always taught that the most appropriate way to divide Asia from Europe was at the Ural, so Ukraine is in Europe I think but most of Russia isn't...

That said, the European Union is pretty expansive in its thinking and wants to let anyone be part of Europe providing they're a stable enough state etc...

The fact that Rahman was knocked out by this guy twice speaks volumes about how bad Americans are in the heavyweight division. Rahman beat Toney in a close but clear fight but got a draw, and Toney is easily the 2nd best American heavyweight. As Americans, we are no longer contenders, boys.
they HW class on sucks because they are not letting the right boxers fight for title....Rahman is trash and for you to actually like him is a damn shame.....no offense....Rahman is all hype and he couldnt beat toney on his worse night...the luck one punch ****er was never a true champion...Boxing needs to turn the young boyz loose and stop relying on then trask ass punks in there 30's......Plus..Toney will beat all the current title holders today.....

well, there are lots of these "big" tough kids that are good naturally/raw talented down in the ******s; the only problem is that they either go to jail for a really long time, die of an overdose, shot in a drive-by, etc.
