Best Olympic Bronze Medalist in Boxing from USA

Not everyone can pull out the big win when the stakes are high like Oscar De La Hoya. Let's take a moment to recognize our Third placers who got the penny colored participation medal after choking when it truly mattered.

Who was the best thurd placer we've had from America?

    1. Floyd Mayweather Jr

    2. Terrance Cauthen

    3. Rhoshii Wells

    4. Antonio Tarver

    5. Andre Dirrell

    6. Deontay Wilder

Two bronze medals are awarded to third place contestants so it’s hard to tell , it can’t be Wilder he only defeated two unknowns who were around 6 feet tall and didn’t win any meaningful match winning only two fights .

I’d say Mayweather because he should have won gold and was giving a bad deal . Wilder was knocked out at one point so I don’t know how he’s going to be voted for and was lucky to get any medal in a weak heavyweight class but boxing scene never fails. Ha

Evander Holyfield and is not even close. He was on his way to winning the Val Barker trophy, he boxed beautifully on each fight, stopping every opponent and was beating the hell out of Kevin Barry before being robbed of a chance in the final.

Olympic medals tend to be a popularity contest
