Pac didn’t “drag” Rios up...Rios was already having trouble making Jr welterweight and fought his next 7 fights at welterweight after the PAC fight. And Matthysse was considers a top welterweight fighter after his Ko of Peterson....His next fight against Danny Garcia was huge and He gave Danny all he could handle.

Matthysee was shot to sht having first WW fight against Manny. I mean Lucas was stopped by Postal.

Rios was of a loss to a B grader and never fought at WW before. and all his WW fights were against JWWs and he lost to most, his last fight was against a old LW and lost.

I really think Manny fans have no idea about how boxing works, I guess thats why its so easy to fool them.

The point is Mikey is better than many Manny has fought so to say he is not worthy does not fit with Mannys past resume.

did u read the thread - point was Pac didn’t “drag” Rios up... Fact - He was already having weight issues at super lightweight and never fought at that weight again(7 more fights) after Pac. Did not say anything about Rios’ competition. And Matthysse was considered a top fighter after his Ko of Peterson...and PAC fight was not his 1st at ww - it was his 3rd!! Facts!!!

Rios LOST to Abril at 135, moved up to 140 and went 1-1 in two wars with Alvarado and then took an offer to fight Manny at 147. As is custom for Manny...he fought Rios after 2 wars and coming off a loss (and was 1-2 in his last three fighyts) - no surprise.

Matthyse LOST to Judah and Devon Alexander at 140 NOT 147...but developed into a dangerous JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT - NOT WELTERWEIGHT - and LOST his pivotal showdown with Danny Garcia at 140 pounds in 2013.

After getting KOd by Postol at 140 in 2015 Matthyse took 2 years off. He came back at 147 and beat 2 club fighters. Manny jumped on that, of course, because Matthyse has "name recognition" even if hes not at all the fighter he once was...5-6 years ago.

Neither of those fighters were ever "Top fighters". Hell neither was ever the best in any division they fought in for even ONE DAY. Thats the reality. Yes, they were both good and fun but youre glamorizing the wins and doing revisionist history because you like Manny. Get over him.

read the initial thread(conversation) ...not glamorizing opponents...just stating facts. Lucas was at one time considered a “top fighter” ...was a champion and his fight with Garcia was a huge showdown for the best at Jr welterweight at that time...and like I said - Pac didn’t “drag” Rios up! That’s all I stated.
