Comments Thread For: Bob Arum: It Would've Been Wrong To Drop Oquendo As Herring's Opponent

Bob Arum never considered an opponent other than Jonathan Oquendo for Jamel Herring's next fight. Arum made sure that Oquendo will get the shot at Herring's WBO junior lightweight title he was contracted to receive. Their fight was postponed twice in less than three weeks during June and July due to Herring's COVID-19 issues, but it is back on.

More like he didn't wanna turn Oquendo down bc he thinks his guy will give him a little
one-up over GBP & Cotto Promotions. Lol

If Herring can't keep Oquendo off him and keep it a boxing match , he might just get knocked out or dropped.

“And he still apparently had [COVID-19] particles. The doctor explained it to us, that even though he probably could no longer transmit the disease, the protocol is the protocol. A positive test is a positive test.”
Somehow a majority of the population likely still finds those statements to be reasonable. Contracting COVID-19 is a life sentence. The COVID19-positive in our society should be indefinitely quarantined to remote unpopulated islands - the new leper class.

I doubt it, but thanks for the tip.

Most likely Herring wins but I actually took the time to watch Oquendo vs Lamont then Lamont vs Herring . After seeing those fights how Oquendo bullied Lamont I think Oquendo might have a good chance to do what Lamont did to Herring on the 2nd half of their fight . Herring ain't all that really one of the weaker Champs
