Buy or sell: Loma-Lopez never happens.

I’m getting the feeling this is gonna be one of those lost fights we never get to see.

I wouldn't be at all surprised. Teo's already bursting at the seams at 135, 6 months, a year and he'll have to move up I reckon. I don't think Arum will move much on the $$$ so unless either Loma volunteers a cut or Teo bends on his demands... well I ain't holding my breath.

FWIW I reckon something like 33%/66% is pretty fair, IMO at least... basically if Loma donated 250k to Teo I personally would feel that should be enough. End of the day though that decision's up to him and his team.

Plenty of fights at 140, I was wrong. I thought he’d get the money but naw. Bobs a known cheapskate and ESPN is guaranteed ratings with the other sports. Boxing has consistently brought in 300,000 or less and that’s with no other televised sports. It’s pathetic but a sign of the times and interest of the audience.

Plus ESPN has already lost millions with top rank and they definitely ain’t in the business of losing money consistently so this may be the end of boxing on ESPN.

It'll happen. 1.2 million is a lowball, but they'll have to wait for gate money to come after the pandemic.

Lopez apparently is either greedy, or does not want to fight Loma or both. Arum says he won't lose money just to make Lopez happy. Why should he? It's not his job to lose money. He wants to make money for both the boxers and himself. He can do that by paying Lopez 1.2 million which is a lot of money. This fight probably will never happen and Lopez will be the one to blame if it doesn't.

I always hesitate to comment on these threads because people tend to assume things are low ball or a boxer being greedy without really knowing what the pot is.
It's the strangest thing. Some people here think money grows on trees versus others who feel like nobody has anything.

It'll be Ferocious George, if he gets past Selby.

Kid is 23 years old...just turned 23 last Thursday so for him he has plenty of time and it is a strong possibility that another even bigger payday and opportunity will come around

Teofimo Lopez vs Tank Davis could potentially be a even BIGGER fight for him as well as fights with Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia so yeah...Lopez will be fine without the Loma fight but he will for sure be the most hated man in boxing so hopefully mentally he is ready to deal with the hate that will come towards him if he doesn't take that Loma fight for 1.2 Million.

Also WTF is next for Loma, this hurts him just as much because it Blocks him from Unifying and also where the hell does he go from here especially at 135. Of course I would love to see the Tank Davis fight, that is his MEGA FIGHT but he is not in control over if or when that fight happens
