Beterbiev is Canelo’s toughest fight imo. World of Tanks fight.
Bivol NEEDS to fight explosively, offensively, that’s just his style. Fans get carried away that by SEEING guys whom want to take off and fresh that it’s the formula to offset the best. That’s not how it works, and many of us know the context that many pros had done some things in the ams/championships, so the experience is there for sure.
But, I think Bivol gets stopped by Beterbiev and possibly by Canelo too. Bivol shoots too wide, especially when he follows up left or right, he likes to aim high on the top. That’s a big no no against Canelo who targets mid range to the body. I mean we see it all the time, but Eastern Euro fighters below Cruiser, with the exception of Turkic republic genetics like Beterbiev, but many of them are thin framed on the body. We don’t know Bivol’s tolerance for a body shot from Canelo on a counter. If Bivol respects Canelo’s power expect a completely different fight. I mean Gennadiy is tough as nails, but genetically he’s Turkic bloodline too. He don’t like that body work.
I think it comes down to the fighting style. Like Cuban or Russian, Their fundamentals are so square that they’re not fluid enough with experience in dog fights to the body. They’re just not trained that way and are brainwashed to be too technical. Mexican Bidness is just a different art. Brits and Americans got more grit than Eastern Euros imo below HW. This is all relative to the amount of elites or stars, so yeah , I’m just generalizing for what we see, not that it’s 100% true.
And Kovalev did that with a drinking problem too... which is why it's true, his stomach wasn't built up, but GGG and Lomachenko have very muscular stomachs and stocky frames. So your comment is baseless. It seems like you're just making up weaknesses of certain groups to create stereotypes that aren't true. Don't forget about Gvozdyk either who was also at 175 and also built like a tank, tall but also strong, and he took Stevenson's and Beterbiev's best body shots, P4P maybe the hardest punchers in the entire sport, without going down or even getting badly incapitated or gassed.
Bivol has likewise never been hurt by a body shot and he's faced Joe Smith Jr a big puncher, and Pascal a good body puncher. Sullivan Barrera appeared to land a perfect left hook to his liver in an exchange and it didn't faze Bivol at all either.
Kessler, Abraham, etc, at 168, had very muscular stocky torsoes and took body shots very well.
Alexander Bes***** has a very muscular body...
So your theory does not hold up to reality in my opinion. Ruslan Provodnikov is another, need I say more.

Based on what we've seen in their performances, and the difference in divisions, if you translated that to a real boxing match, Bivol would win every round and KO Canelo. But Boxing is a totally crooked sport so I absolutely agree with you, Canelo probably will get in the ring with Bivol at some point, and I expect Canelo to officially end up as "winner." It would not surprise me if Bivol does not throw any real punches all fight. After all, his countryman promoted by the same promoter Bivol is affiliated with, Main Events, Sergey Kovalev, did it against Canelo, so why not Bivol? That's why I pick Canelo in every one of his "fights" now.
But if you're asking in reality, would Canelo actually beat someone who is better than him in 80% of boxing categories, and is naturally two divisions bigger than him? No it would be a wipe out. Canelo has better head movement, left hook, uppercut, inside fighting, and better body punches, that's it. Speed is a tie. Every other category, every single other category is a tie or Bivol is better.
Jab? Bivol.
Power? Bivol.
Size? Bivol.
Strength (cuz of the size)? Bivol.
Jab to the body? Bivol.
Straight right to the body? Bivol.
Height? Bivol.
Reach (off eye test)? Bivol.
Leg reach? Bivol.
Footwork? Bivol.
Stamina? Bivol.
Chin? The top 3 light heavyweight Bivol who has fought the best punchers at 175 without going down no doubt has a better chin than someone who was wobbled by Liam Smith at 154 pounds, let's be real. At least, assuming that fight wasn't acting like Canelo vs Kovalev appeared to be.
Outside fighting? Bivol.
Mid range fighting? Bivol.
Guard? Bivol.
Angles? Bivol.
Fight IQ, positioning, and ring IQ? Bivol.
But absolutely, I pick Canelo, for sure. I agree with you, Canelo will "fight" Bivol and will "win" in my opinion.Last edited by Boxing Logic; 08-05-2020, 01:14 AM.

All categories to Bivol? You’re gonna feel mighty awkward when he loses to Canelo. 80% you say all categories? But when you see the compubox you’re going to be scratching your head and crying “robbery.” If Bivol gets stopped I assume you’re going to change your opinion about Canelo as your favorite fighter. You’re giving Bivol too much credit. That’s all good! I understand you’re trying to objective, but you forgot the X-Factor that Canelo isn’t draining at all at higher weights. That makes a huge difference in performance.Last edited by Thuglife Nelo; 08-05-2020, 01:38 AM.

When Mikey Garcia moved up to 147, he no longer had to drain himself either. How'd that work out for him when he fought Errol Spence and lost every round? Errol Spence is not as good as Dmitry Bivol, either.
Kell Brook no longer had to drain to 147 when he fought GGG at 160, how did that work out?
You can't find better comps for Canelo in the entire sport than Mikey Garcia and Kell Brook, really. As good a style comp as you can expect to find in separate fighters, and a perfect weight bully comparison too. Meanwhile Bivol is faster than both GGG and Spence, and has a better +/- rating, and much better defense to go with comparable offense...
But as I said, I would pick Canelo either by KO or decision over Bivol.

So maybe I gave Canelo one category short, and should have given him "right hook to body" and "left hook to body" while giving Bivol "straight right to body" and "jab to the body," but my point did not rest on just 1 category here or there, it was a landslide for Bivol, and he didn't even point out this 1 error made, I am the one being generous enough to point it out for him. Instead he pointed out 1 thing after another that didn't even make any sense, like claiming that jabs and ring IQ are not categories. By ring IQ I basically just meant the boxer's mind, how well they react and think the game. Boxers like Lomachenko and Bivol and Floyd barely ever get hit at all because they are so well drilled and see everything so well and are so fundamentally skilled not to mention fast.
Basically what I call ring IQ, Breadman (who is full of **** IMO but just to quote him here) would call "eyes," or having good eyes in the ring. It's definitely a category. But he took issue with that one too lol.
So long story short, he responded with one thing after another that weren't even legitimate criticisms or points at all IMO, but just total random nonsense opposite of what would have made sense to say, and so I responded again to him and if you liked my initial post you'll probably like that one too. But honestly this sport is so bull**** I dont even care about it anymore and both of us are wasting our time posting about it. So Im glad you liked my post and I foolishly went to the trouble of posting another one, which if you're going to spend any more time reading boxingscene posts, you will probably like as well and therefore it's more worth your while than most others probably, but Im saying in reality we're both probably best off not writing or reading anymore posts about this sport period, if you can even call it a sport.
Canelo vs Kovalev was the wakeup call for me. I suspected the GGG vs Canelo fights were fake because of the way GGG kept throwing and missing the same straight right hand over and over, and the weird way some of the punches and misses looked, and the lack of body shots, the way the few GGG did throw looked pulled, etc but I didnt believe it. But then I saw Canelo vs Kovalev, and it was like the same exact thing only even more pronounced, possibly because Kovalev being so much bigger and more powerful even than GGG required that he pull his punches even more to avoid hurting Canelo, who knows. That's just speculation. But once I saw that "fight," that's when I started really investigating and going back and studying full fights at 25% speed, rewinding certain exchanges over and over again until I could see exactly what was going on...
And I would look at one fight. Then another. Then another. Not just Canelo, GGG, or Kovalev, but every big name boxer going back decades. I don't feel comfortable saying anymore other than to say that when I was finished, not only had I stopped caring about Canelo, GGG, and Kovalev's "matchups," I had also stopped caring about all the other matchups too, from Pacquiao to Floyd to Loma to AJ to Usyk to Fury to Wilder to everyone in between, as well as Mcgregor, Khabib, and all of UFC. Because what I saw closely studying the video of the boxing ring immediately made me wonder about UFC, so I studied the tape for UFC too. Let's just say I no longer care about UFC either.Last edited by Boxing Logic; 08-05-2020, 02:31 AM.

If anything he would have had a better argument taking issue with me giving Bivol a "jab to the body" category, but seeing as I gave Canelo the overall "body punching" category in general, it stood out to me how even that is limited to mid and inside curved punches, while Bivol's superior height, reach, leg length and footwork and overall leg and body extension, mean that he is a much better body puncher from the outside with straight punches.

Kovalev Vs Canelo fight looked very fishy. Kovalev was drained and tired however I still don't get why he barely throw any punches it was more like he avoided to punch canelo. He wasn't himself definitely and there is a reason canelo and his team hand picked kova..
I know for sure that Bivol will be 100% prepared for fight against canelo the only problem is that canelo and his team know that this is mismatch canelo has no chance against Bivol. Bivol will box canelos head off therefore this fight will never happen. They might fight Beterbiev in 2-3 years when he is old.. I'm disgusted with canelo tactic to fight old washed up "champs". Don't get how people can worship that fraud..

Bivol is the man at 175 until proven otherwise. Canelo would not prove anything but that he lacks many things in comparison to Bivol. Of course he wouldn't take that fight! There is someone that would and it would be a hell of a fight. A forgotten about mexican who just split from TR. My money is on Ramirez! Make that happen please.
