Bad recovery ability. I do think he was rocked in the Mercer fight though and still won. I don't know of any other times but these he has been hurt.
I think Briggs had him stunned too but yeah you are right. He got out of alot of bad positions by his smarts and ring generalship......

I believe Henry Akimwunde (sp) made Lewis touch down for a second, but it wasnt counted as a kd.
Also Bruno was doing very well against Lewis until caught with a great big left and stopped.

I think Lewis is both underrated and overrated. U cant question his acheivments, yet his style for many was ininspiring. After his McCall KO he was more reluctant to finish opponents.

Ive found him frustrating. I wasnt impressed at all with his Shannon Briggs victory. He often looked tired and slow. Yet could put together some great punches and was definatly a great heavyweight.

        Im just not a fan.

Its more of a case of when Lewis got caught he didnt see the punch coming, and they are the ones that KO you! Against Rahman Lewis blocked his own vision with his left glove, then Rahman landed his biggest punch on Lewis while he blocked his own vision!! Against Macall he shut his eyes, threw a right hand, then macall landed the biggest punch he throws

You saw that fight havent tommy Walked right into and took a few before he finaly went down, Tommy also did not respect Bentt whatsoever and paid for it. You saw what Mercer did to him that would have KILLED some Heavyweights.
