I totally agree with you about people being able to speak their mind but there are also consequences if you say something race related that alienates or criticizes someone based on race. That's just reality. You can run your mouth all day but once you start saying one race is superior to another one, a big network like CBS is going to eliminate you from their staff.Pauli’s said nothing that warranted him being fired. He was just speaking his truth.
Agree with him or not, this is getting ridiculous. People should be allowed to Speak their mind.
The top 3-5 fighters in the world aren’t black, what’s wrong wit his statement?
USYK, Loma, Canelo are Leagues ahead of Any fighter in the sport. Neither is American pie white as well. It’s all Bs and agendas.
I don't agree with your assessment about the top 3-5 fighters in the world not being black. That kind of statement is pure opinion and nowhere near being a fact. Bud Crawford dominated lightweight and junior welterweight and is now a welterweight. Usyk, who I really like, dominated cruiserweight and hasn't done anything at heavyweight yet he's clearly higher on the P4P list than Bud?
I don't think so.
Canelo is a proven cheater who although he has accomplished a hell of a lot as a pro, there should be an asterix permanently next to his name because he was juiced for the bulk of his best wins and he waited until his best competition was old to fight them. I don't care how many weights he's fought in given his use of clenbuterol which was egregious and is used to cut weight and retain muscle mass. This is obviously how he was able to get down to ridiculous catchweights and rehydrate 2 to 3 weight classes above his opponents. Again, my opinion is that Canelo is NOT #1 P4P and that can certainly be argued but I believe there are legitimate points, such as the ones I mentioned, that support this opinion.Comment

boxing has been mainly immune to sht like this. boxers have more freedom to say whatever they feel than athletes in any other sport. Paulie has been saying crazy sht for decades. matter fact it is his big fckn mouth that got him hired by Showtime. this is rare for a boxer to get struck down over comments.
a great replacement would be Ward.
Andre Ward can articulate the subtleties of the sport almost as good as Paulie.Comment

I think the issue is saying racism doesn’t exist in the country. Nothing else he said was offensive. Sucks he lost his job.I'm not surprised by this. Saying the "Eastern European is the dominant species ...." is full-on reminiscent of the 1930s and 1940s. Anyone who doesn't see that is blind. With that being said, the delayed reaction by Showtimes is funny. They should have said something about this months ago. Looks as if its not integrity that sways them but losing money—as always.
I think Paulie should have said that: Anyone who steps in the ring can lose to anyone. And with a mixture of people from all over the world, it's very possibly for Haney to lose to any person of any color of skin. It goes without having to be said.
Anyway, when I heard it from Paulie, I took it as a "tongue in cheek" comment. He should have apologized because I enjoyed his commentary the mostComment

Well, if that's the case, then I have to wonder when this occurred? I mean, if he said this pre-George Floyd, it might not have been such an issue. It's not true, of course. But it's not an overt racial comment. If it happened post-George Floyd, and I don't believe it did (someone correct me), then it certainly can be viewed as an antagonist/trolling comment.Comment

he is allowed to speak his mind.. he not going to jail for it lol. A company can fire for damn near whatever reason they want. Theres no first ********* protection for losing your jobPauli’s said nothing that warranted him being fired. He was just speaking his truth.
