Comments Thread For: Roy Jones: Me & Mike Tyson, In Our Primes, Would Probably Beat Fury, Joshua

Roy Jones Jr. feels confident that he and and Mike Tyson, in the primes of their respective careers, would probably have beaten Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. Jones, 51-years-old, held world titles in four weight divisions.

The fighters today man I don't see the skill, I don't see the double hooks or hooking off a jab, I don't see a shoulder roll or sharp combinations of crisp compact blows

These guys today are strength & condition guys from Eastern Block or UK amateur funding or US basketball drop-outs

Fury destroys both of them, especially Roy. He's not a HW.

Fury destroys prime Tyson? No way.

Agreed, Fury beats Jones due to size.

The first HW Tyson faced who wasn't scared of him, knocked him out, who did Mike ever beat?

No boxer under 6ft would get anywhere near Fury.

Mike beats AJ most likely, not sure about Fury, the size difference is ridiculous.

Roy could potentially beat AJ, dont think i'd favour him to though, and definitely not vs Fury. Again the size difference is so significant, we aint talking 6'2 John Ruiz here.

Tyson probably beats Joshua but not Fury. Roy doesn’t beat either, he was never a real HW

I watched them both in their primes and I think Pre jail mike would’ve knocked fury out pretty easily and AJ even easier. He was too fast and was an astute student of the game. Roy had more skill than both AJ and Fury but I feel like their size would eventually lead to him being knocked out he just wasn’t a HW he was originally a MW. Mike would work them tho and I’m well aware of Tyson’s shortcomings. This current crop of HWs just isn’t very good. Tyson Lewis Bowe Holyfield Old Foreman hell ike ibea would’ve beaten the current crop at a 70 % clip
