    Screw PBC and Haymon.
All I have heard for the last couple years is Gary call out fighters in higher weightclass yet he is still in the same division as when I first saw him. Even people he readily criticizes like Santa Cruz has moved up numerous times.

Lol...the size difference would be immense. Russell’s little t-Rex arms would be coming up short for as long as it lasted.

Just shoot Gary out of a cannon. He’s got about the same chance of surviving and it would be a lot more interesting to watch.

Those are not easy fights for anyone yet he has to take them to keep his belt.

Mares has no fight lined up so why not at least try to get that one next? I'm sure the Warrington fight could be possible and he was talking to Hearn last year. Maybe he can even go to TR and fight Stevenson at 130?
He’s a very good fighter, the Diaz and Tug wins prove that. Both mandatories though so I get the feeling he’ll only take a big fight if he has to.

Mares should be an easy fight to make, him vs Warrington is a great fight, but I just don’t see it happening. Based on his recent schedule, I’d be amazed if he even fights again in 2020.

Russell's best win is Joseph Diaz (at 126)...

... while Bud campaigned at lightweight (135) only for one year and a half... (the rest of his fights was above that limit)...

GRJ vs Bud in the street gots my interest cuz GRJ allegedly got him there once before, but in the ring with gloves & rules & a ref idk bout that one.

GRJ just looking for a cash out fight of any kind at this point is the main thing happening here. Reality creeps up on these boxers as time moves forward. Guy is 32 which is like 40 for a lower weight guy & he's had an annual fight for the last 6 years ffs. He's been going nowhere very slowly & by his own hand to hear Tim Smith discuss the situation. Odds are he's not going to become Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk in retirement so he needs to set some sh^t up in the ring to move forward with post-boxing before the lights go out on his career.
