Yeah the bar's been set waaay too high honestly. Journeymen are really your dudes like Kristian Laight who fight week in week out but are in effect paid to come along and lose obviously without taking enough damge to stop 'em fighting next week, and without embarrassing the dude they're in with.

I'm thinking of William Warburton... The guy even caused some mild upset here and there!

Does Collazo count? Maybe it'd be a bit harsh to call him a journeyman per se but he was (is?) a great gatekeeper, will forever laugh at him smashing up Victor Ortiz. Second whoever suggested Khomistsky as well, always found out the overrated young Brit upstarts they put him up against. Demarcus Corley too, last time I checked he was still fighting and still managing to score a good few upsets.

Collazo is not a journeyman. Dude was world titlist at 147. And fought title fights against good opposition many times.

Journeyman is a fighter who was never on world level and doesn`t even fight for major world titles or maybe fights once.

Gatti, Ward, Bam Bam Rios, Oosthuzien, Alvarado, JSK was a great call out.

One of the reasons we ( we being purists) hate casuals so much is because they are the type of people to ignore anyone who isn't a name, or a champion.

Its like saying you like basketball but only watch the finals. You'd be missing a lot of good ball. If you only watch major PPVs and only care about 1 or 2 guys, you are missing ALOT of boxing.

That's also probably why the average casual never learns anything. They never care enough to soak enough in.

Probably 90% of talent never makes it close to our screens... dudes girl gets pregnant and he gotta get an extra job, or he's sick on the day the scout comes to the gym, or that one in a thousand punch lands on him in his breakout fight and he's forever relegated to gatekeeping or drugs or prison or anything...

Thats very true. When I lived in Cali a lot of ppl respected a homeless man. Said he was a site to see when he was young and in the ring. Something happened to him he just gave up?
