I can’t speculate Margarito for Mayweather and you don’t like ‘what ifs’ too but one things for sure, this fight didn’t happen and once upon a time, Margarito was a long reigning champ and Floyd took the other route instead of him. I would do the same thing if I was Floyd. I’d take take Judah, Baldomir and especially Dela Hoya mega payday too instead of this guy
No matter what, there will always be...MUST BE a #1, #2, #3, and so forth in every div. Like I said, Pac was the best of the worst. No one significant down there.

You can't speculate on May vs Margarito, eh ?

Lets take a look at his best wins - Cintron 2x (who was meh at best), a green Martinez (16 fights) and Cotto*.

Pac caught Margie at his very worst, as he did 99% of his signature wins. To think it was for a (vacant) title !!!!!

Baldo is a lighter hitting version of Margarito who had some boxing skills.

Zab would probably box circles around Margarito
The DLH that May beat would kill Margarito

Margarito was complete shlt above WW.
Life and death with Santos ?!?!?!
    Humiliated vs Mosley ?!?!?!

    Long reigning WBO champ.

It irks me when people stop thinking and believe in the ''he ducked'' line. How does one ''duck'' a guy like Margarito only to beat Mosley (the same Mosley who humiliated Margarito), Cotto (without cement), DLH (above WW)....

If ducking means fighting better guys for more money, then yes ! May is guilty as charged (unless there's a link where it states May said he was afraid to fight Margarito).

Boxing is a business and they fight for a prize (belts AKA $$$$$). If May comes back tonight, people will beg to fight him for that $$$$$.

    • Floyd's career put in perspective:
      Great fighter
      One of the atgs
      Always down for a catchweight
moved up in weight capturing (insert number here times) world champion
      Called the tbe
Was an assassin as pretty boy
Was astute and knowledgable/ smart as money may
      Was hungry
      Arguably best defensive fighter ever
      Beat (however many) greats
      Clean image/ straight edge
      However woman beater
      ****y and arrogant to some
      Extremely disciplined
      King of the PPVs
      Arguably the goat
Beat this eras #1 or #2 however you see it fighter in Manny Pacquiao
A product of the American Olympics
Often quoted in a dream match with sugar Ray Leonard
      Canastota bound.

If you care to breakdown Mannys fights from 140 to 154 you will see how a long list of asterisks are attached to them.

Margarito was a total sham, every thing about the fight was BS.

From Hatton to Thurman there is loads of asterisks, CWs, guys within 1-2 give me fights from their biggest losses, injuries poor form etc etc .

Leave out CWs or guys within 2 fights from a major loss and what is left of Mannys resume ? name them ?
If you do this, same should also apply to Floyd, especially against Pac and Canelo. How many losses was Dela Hoya and Judah away?

Why don’t we just do this to every fighter then?

I thought you don’t like ‘what ifs’. And I never disagree with Floyd’s decisions. In fact, he’s actually smart and wise to navigate his career to a better route.

Not a fan of illogical if's.

I truly can't see how Margarito beats any version of May. Maidana tried to bum rush him 2x and failed.

              DLH couldn't do it
              Mosley couldn't do it
              Cotto couldn't do it
              PAC couldn't do it
              Nelo couldn't so it
              JMM couldn't do it

              But Margie could have

This is 1 if that makes me laugh.

You try to excuse with ‘illogical’ just insert your ‘what if’ and make it work? Look, you can speculate all you want but truth of the matter is - it didn’t happen.

It must have been frustrating to think that Floyd could have beaten Tony had they got into the ring but it just didn’t happen

But don’t worry - May beats Marg in fantasy match-ups. I will not disagree anymore. Its just that.....

No evidence except our imagination. Lol

                    • Margie beating May is on par with RJJ beating Lennox.
