Santa Cruz can become a five weight champion without fighting in a fifth weight class

No ****! But when your opponent also weighs 130, it’s a super featherweight fight.
Why don’t they fight for the vacant WBO Light Heavyweight title instead? They can weigh 130 and fight in that division!
If Davis was allowed to come in above 130, I wouldn’t care.
But he’s not allowed to, so it’s not a lightweight fight. And Santa Cruz shouldn’t be allowed to win a lightweight title in a super featherweight fight.
Tank is the regular WBA LW champ. He just beat Gamboa for that title. He can defend that title at any weight he chooses, SO LONG AS IT IS LESS THAN 135LBS. If he weighs in at 130, that doesn't mean its a SFW fight. It's still Tank defending his WBA LW regular title.
There is no "floor" when it comes to wight classes in boxing. You can weigh as little as you want so long as you are under the limit for the division.Comment

You did claim a conspiracy theory.
You said the only reason I started this thread was because Santa Cruz was a PBC fighter.
That’s a conspiracy theory. You’ve decided I have an agenda based on absolutely no facts. You’re also ignoring an incredibly relevant point and pretending like it’s a smokescreen for a hidden agenda.
That’s pretty much the exact definition of a conspiracy theory.Comment

Again though, let's not give any credence to this title. Lomachenko is THAT dude for the WBA, not little Tank.Comment

I’m not arguing that it’s impossible.
It clearly isn’t because it’s happening and it’s happened before.
I’m arguing that it’s ******.
Jesus Christ this is so frustrating and not worth it.
No matter how many times you post that, you are still wrong. There is a SFW/JLW division. To have a fight sanctioned as a fight in that division, both men must be under 130lbs. Both men could weigh 130 and the fight be sanctioned as a LW bout because they are both under 135 lbs.

I made two threads and they’re different topics.
One is about how ****** this is and one is about how Santa Cruz would be the worst five division champion ever.
Those aren’t the same topic.

I understand weight limits.
Both fighters are contracted to fight at the super featherweight limit. It isn’t a lightweight fight. It’s a super featherweight fight.
No one will describe it as a fight at lightweight because it isn’t one.
Let’s sanction Menyothin-Freshmart for the heavyweight title. You can fight at heavyweight while weighing 105. Then the winner would be the first person to win titles at 105 and heavyweight. It would be totally normal, acceptable and an amazing accomplishment. Because who has ever won a heavyweight title after winning a title at 105? Who cares that they both contracted to fight at 105? You can fight at heavyweight at 105, it’s all good.Comment
