    Zsolt Erdei was a lineal champion, man. Ain't gonna dismiss the lineal, but you gotta apply some common sense. Lineal don't necessarily mean best.

      Sure. If people can call Joe Calzaghe a two division champ when he only won the ring belt at light heavy and Pac-Man is an 8 division champ cuz he won the ring belt at 140, I don’t see why the ring belt isn’t an important title

        Ring is a respected boxing magazine. The magazine lost respect when De La Hoya purchased the mag. Oscar says he stays out of running the mag and their boxing ratings but who believes that? Ring is just a magazine with their own opinions. They can say who they consider champions and lineal champions and list their ratings but they have no authority in the boxing world. Being a Ring champion carries no monetary value.
