  • Comments Thread For: Clay Collard: As Soon As Top Rank Wants Me Back, I'll Be Ready

As long as Top Rank has summer dates, "Cassius" Clay Collard is happy to fill them. The unexpected boxing cult favorite continues to thrive during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic which has otherwise hamstrung the sport. Collard picked up his fourth win in a year where a lot of boxers are still awaiting their first fight, his latest opportunity coming in a 2nd round stoppage of Lorawnt T. "Smash" Nelson in a battle of multi-sport athletes.

He is going to make a good living for himself taking all these fights and getting his name out there.
He's kind of like a less talented Gabe Rosado type.

People will probably want to fight him too since he's been on tv a couple of times and is getting name recognition for his upsets.

The best thing about him is that he tries very hard and people can tell his level of effort. He is never going to be a technical boxer but he is fun to watch in these prelim fights.

Now this is an attitude and soul of a fighter! This guy is what boxing is all about. I’d rather watch and support a Clay Collard type, who gets in their with honor fighting for the fans, than some hyped up, entitled and protected Crawford that says he refuses to take a pay cut when there are no ticket sales. Entitlement culture 101. Give me Collard over cowards like Crawfish all day.

Thank goodness for Clay “The Blue Collar” Collard cuz he brings excitement and entertainment for boxing fans hungry for combat!

I liked his improvements in his last fight, he set everything up
With the jab and worked the body better!

I would like to see him and Joey Spencer get it on to see if Spencer is really the blue chip talent they say!

Make it at 154 or 160 I don’t care but we need more of The Blue Collard putting in work!

He has nothing to lose, it’s why he wins, the moment he becomes a contender and starts thinking man I might have a shot is when he will start losing, when he starts thinking too much and playing it safe. He needs to keep up that fearless mentality to win

He should look into bare knuckle, too. The BKFC has been overpaying journeyman boxers, retired legends, and Bellator washouts.
