The word great being used loosely these days calling Crawford and Spence great, to be great you would have to beat great fighters or have longevity. Both do not qualify, not Crawford not Spence, good maybe but not great.

Judging from Spence close win over Porter, I am not sure that Spence or Crawford would be guaranteed to beat any of the other top rated welterweights, i.e. Thurman, Pacman, Ugas, Garcia, etc.

Spence has demonstrated a bit more greatness than Bud(even though Bud jumped divisions,he was at the weakest 140 lb division,& only at 135 has been tested v the upper echelon),but yes imo neither are near greats & likely will not become nearly as great as they were capable of; seeing as they are past 30 & still haven't faced the absolute best...at least as perceived.

RELUCTANTLY I agree. The best of the best was once settled in the ring, hard to imagine but true. Today proclaiming greatness requires a phone, repetition and the internet echo chamber.

Even before the accident, I picked Crawford over Spence, and would still lean that way. Bud and his trainers seem to do a good job of zeroing in on their opponent's faults... and Spence exhibited a few weaknesses vs Brook and Porter. But like Crawford says... the Swift fight will tell us a lot about where Spence is at.

Trust me, Erroll Spence will be just fine. He won't make the same mistake by fighting Danny Garcia the same way he fought Shawn Porter. I expect him to use his stick more and box "Swift".

Danny has done well in the fights he isn't suppose to and his losses are fights many saw as the sort that could have also gone his way. Don't know that he can win, but I won't be overly surprised to see him do so either. Hows that for indecisive?
