Comments Thread For: Canelo-Eubank Jr. Could Be Right Opportunity For Both, Says McGuigan

Promoter and former world champion Barry McGuigan believes Chris Eubank Jr. would be a perfect opponent for Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. In the last few weeks, Eubank Jr. has been pushing hard to get in the ring with Canelo.

This would actually be a good fight, Eubank is in his prime, has a solid engine and chin, he will come to win and not just take the money and run.

I agree and it's almost guaranteed to be fan friendly too. Eubank will bring that attitude of his and make it more of a show. Folk may laugh at this but I'd actually give Canelo credit if he stopped him. Like you say his engine is as good as any and it looks like he's inherited his Dads chin. He's just by no means an elite boxer, regardless who is training him.

Enough of hearing from 100 potential opponents every day, the question is who is Canelo going to fight? Thats all that matters...not what all these potential opponents say. Their noise is totally worthless.....especially club fighter Squiggly.

Eubank would be a good fight, plus Better than any of the other names mentioned.

I'd like to see Jr and Korobov go at it again. Had Matt not done his shoulder in, then he probably would've won handily and we wouldn't even be talking about Jr.

That's exactly why Korobov won't be getting a rematch with either Eubank or Charlo, and probably why he hasn't been considered for the Alvarez fight despite being better than Quigley, Ryder or Lemieux?!

Pretty sure Canelo will take an easy fight during the pandemic with a c-level. Which would exclude jnr. But otherwise should be a fun fight between those two.

Nowhere near the fighter his dad was.

I'd rather see this than Lemiuex. Eubank would give it a go at least.
