    Yeah, okay.

What I'd rather see are fighters getting duly paid for the risks they take to entertain fans.

The only one that holds weight is Rousey/Cyborg.

Nobody was really calling for Conor/Diaz 3 (and even if they WERE marinating it, its the third ****ing fight after you already saw two within 6 months).

DC fighting a retired Brock was touted by the media for like a few weeks, the rumors came out of nowhere, it wasnt some big fight that everyone was demanding to happen.

Conor/Khabib 2? who was calling for that? most people thought Conor got his ass thoroughly beat and didnt deserve a rematch. The real fight to make was Khabib/Ferguson, which wasnt so much "marinated" as it just kind of naturally fell apart through repeated unlucky circumstances.

In boxing its totally normal to have to wait literally years to see the two top fighters in a division go at it. You just cannot compare it. Floyd/Pac happened like 5 years late. Canelo/GGG was milked for years. Crawford/Spence still hasnt happened. AJ/Wilder never happened. AJ/Fury still hasnt happened. Usyk, a p4p talent, has essentially spent the last 2 years doing jack ****. Its pretty much expected that basically every big fight will get dragged out for years in boxing.

It was - and is - 1-1. It needed a rubber match. Numerous rumors of a rubber match happening. Then Floyd stalked and stopped the 'Baddest Man on the Planet' - sent Conor into hiding. He comes back and sparks out a gatekeeper in Cowboy Cerrone. Completely overmatched. THAT is when that fight could have happened with Diaz. Hell, Conor should have given Aldo a rematch at least 2 years ago.

Wrong. It was the main fight at the time, because of this:

Yes, he got choked the hell out. Then this happened - which I remind you was October 2018:

And as soon as 4 months ago they were still chatting about it when Poirer whined.

That's marinating in its finest, bro.

In that case I suppose AJ/Ruiz 3 is a huge fight that needs a rubber match too?

It was not an important fight, Nate came in as a last minute replacement for the first fight and was not an elite guy in the division. Youre also overlooking that Conor was jumping around weight classes. He went from FW to WW to LW in the space of one year.

He fought LW champ Alvarez a few months after the second Diaz fight. Then he came back 2 years after that and fought the new LW champ (and p4p top talent) Khabib. Bear in mind Nate wasnt even fighting this whole time, he was inactive from the Conor fight through to late 2019.

I dont think many people would have preferred Conor/Diaz 3 over Conor/Eddie and Conor/Khabib. Maybe the Diaz rematch could have happened earlier this year instead of the Cerrone fight, but both are gatekeepers at this point anyway. Plus Diaz had recently gotten destroyed by Jorge and more people were interested in seeing Conor fight Jorge than Nate again.

Brock had fought once in the previous 7 years and had long ceased to be an active relevant part of the division. Brock/Jones was rumored at one point too. Its not like these were fights between the two top guys in the division. They were casual friendly novelty fights that fell through.

So delusional Conor tweeting about getting undeserved rematches that most fans didnt even think were necessary is the same as the UFC making people wait years for a fight? what?

Surely you see how flimsy these examples are? you're talking about rematches to one sided fights, rubber matches and unranked guys coming out of retirement. Meanwhile in boxing we are talking **** like Spence/Crawford where the clear #1 and #2 in the division wont fight each other for years, if ever.

The turnover for big fights in the UFC is much quicker. Title pictures change frequently because the fights get made and before long we know whos better than who. In boxing we spend years fixating on a divisions biggest fight while watching the irresistable object and immovable force in question fight everyone but each other, and we endlessly argue about whos ducking who in the meantime. Thats pretty much how it goes.

Strangely enough, I'm much more open to watching women do MMA, than men.

It seems like a natural way for women to fight with all the grabbing and holding.

To me, men are supposed to fight by "throwing hands", which is what we call it in the hood.

I wish a motherfxcker would try to arm bar me in a fight :lol1:
            It'd probably go like this.

No idea how anyone can diss BJJ from a street fight perspective? It was developed as a way for a smaller man/person to disable a larger threat.

Also there's no honor in a street fight, it's about incapacitating the other person in whatever manner.

A man comes at me I'll throw hands, elbows, chokes whatever it take to bring him down.

Yeah, it's not for me. Those first few seconds where anything can happen are extremely exciting, even more so than boxing, but what happens after that isn't what I like watching.

How anyone can? Easy. You just stop pretending that boxing is real fighting and boom, MMA becomes appealing all of a sudden.

                    See, there's the problem.

You're looking at it as a FAN.

I'm looking at it as a person who cares about fights that draw money.

Khabib/Ferguson does not draw new money.

Rose Namajunas by herself does not draw money.

When I say "draw money", I mean pull in people who would normally not watch the product.

Brock/DC would have drawn money, because that phony beef was staged perfectly to entice a fight. Just like when Undertaker ran up on Brock ("...wanna do it?") which was a shoot. Just like when CM Punk debuted and "Cult of Personality" hit.

It doesn't matter about the fight. It's about the spectacle. Drawing new fans to the product. THEN, use your exciting fighters like Amanda Nunes and The Queen of Violence to keep the fans who like action, use Rachel Ostovich to keep the (male) fans where sex sells. That's how you do it.

That's what I want to see.

McGregor will draw money no matter who he's in with, but the promoters can heavily build rubber matches. You, the hardcores, just want to see the latest 'eye tests' get their shot. But those guys are not entertaining. They will not draw money.

Hell, I don't even know the names of 75% of the roster. Because they're nobody.

Boxing is more aesthetically pleasing but the best never fight each other. It’s so damn frustrating to watch this sport. Legit look up the betting odds for any boxing card to see how lopsided people view these fights. I would love to see a single stacked boxing card this year
